Enhanced User Interface v1.30j

Hey,

Thanks for your attention. It is happening when I start an un-modded game, build a city, choose research, move warrior, on next turn hit exit to main menu and am kicked out to the steam library. It also happens in modded games. Do you still want me to delete the FrontEnd folder from UI_bc1 ? It happens at any point I try to exit to main menu during gameplay.

Or can anyone else running Linux Mint 21.3 Virginia verify it is only me?

Thanks

4UC component, so you probably need to update that modmod
I don't understand. This modmod won't be integrated into the main mod? Why update it? Is the author of this modmod still updating it? I've read about 3 threads on this topic and it seems like each one doesn't talk to the other or is it just me?

I have crashes when loading save files and it happens when processing the turn too. This situation is not so often but occurs from time to time after I active this mod. I wonder what I can check to fix it.

Attaching to resource. bc, i hope this looks correct but feel free to edit or let me know what's missing. I guessed on the thread title, but you can adjust or let me know and I will. Bug report (for previous EUI versions from 2024-11 and 2025-02, but still consistently there in this newest version from 2025-04-05):
Observed in "Conquest of the New World" scenario (playing Elizabeth): mouse-over on the tech progress-circle-bar on the top left leads to a buggy display of the tech in question. Afterwards, ALL mouse-over texts are broken and display the tech progress.
Can be fixed by the user: just completely remove the UI_bc folder from the install directory and return to the standard game settings.
Would love a fix, though.

@Enyavar : did you follow the instructions on line 77 in the readme file ?
The one which says
Code:
when using EUI, remove DiploList.lua and TopPanel.lua from ...\Steam\SteamApps\common\sid meier's civilization v\assets\DLC\DLC_07\Scenarios\Conquest of the New World Deluxe\UI
Yeah, no, didn't read THAT far after installation.

Thanks for pointing out the fix.

I have a crash when trying to settle my first city.
Running windows 11, completely fresh civ 5 install, no mods, v1.30g, game version 1.0.3.279, I have all DLC.
Also when starting the game, on the main menu screen the background is completely grey as well.
Is this mod just incompatible with windows 11?

@Xeptanexus are you using VP ? EUI is not compatible with VP, the VP developers have made a compatible fork (from an older EUI code base).
Deleting the VPUI folder in the Sid Meier's Civilization V\Assets\DLC fixed it for me, I guess it never uninstalled properly even after a full reinstall. Thanks

Just FYI for everyone from Google: if you have issues with game's assets (like icons or models) being messed up with this mod, try using DX9. For some reason on my W11 DX11 did specifically that and specifically with the mod, vanilla was fine.

Hey I've been using the EUI for a few years now, and I never had any problems with the mod in terms of it working, the only time it showed any problem was a few years back when it was showing Babylon as a TXT-KEY bug, which just required me to check the files integrity on Steam, but ever since the recent 1.30g update to the mod I've been getting constant TXT-KEY bugs around Wonder text, Tech text, Unit text, Building txt, Mod Setting (settings added by the mod in the settings menu) text, and the in-game Unit Tab (the little arrow at the bottom left corner that allows me to see what units I have and the ammount) txt. For context I usually play Vanilla Civ with the EUI mod being the only mod I have, so I know it's not a mod conflict, or a mod requiring an older version the EUI mod, and getting the Legacy version also shows the TXT-KEY bug, can anyone help me here? Most of the help I see on the Internet tends to be towards people who use the Vox Populi mod, and there's no help towards people like me who play Vanilla with the EUI mod

@bc1 I just merged in 155 pages out of 175 or so which should be there. No guarantee that all posts belong here (most definitely), and I'll try to get the rest of the posts back here too (if that works... different question).

  • Fix the base game bug that when declaring war using a ranged unit to capture an enemy unit, it would range strike rather than capture, or when using an aircraft, it would get no damage
this is still (partially?) broken. it worked once for me, but in another game was broke again.

also, i keep getting weird glitches like
- random hammer icons appearing in the policy tree
- diplomacy trade window is empty sometimes for my own civ

i cleared the cache, deleted old ver etc.

Using 1.30i and playing Venice, city-states that are bought with a Great Merchant no longer have the ability to purchase buildings or units. Another very minor bug is that those city-states start with a production focus but I believe switch back to gold focus (as city-states do) in a turn or so. It may be possible the production focus isn't happening as I didn't pay all that much attention to the tiles the AI chose.

for some reason, the enemy civ has my cities as their items ? (1.30i)
