At Italy: Do you have foretellers or something? Can you time travel? I would really like to know. In 1914 there was no proof against the Serbians paying the assassins.
I am roleplaying the way it would have been seen in 1914. You however, are not. In 1914, everyone was shocked at the assassination of the Archduke Franz Ferdinand.
The Empire of Mexico condemns the actions taken by Germany and Austria-Hungry. We believe that Austria-Hungry does not have a reasonable DoW and embargoes them, along with Germany and pushes all other nations to do the same.
In Europe, catastrophe has struck. It started when the aggressive Germans attacked the Netherlands. Because earlier France had signed a treaty with Belgium and the Netherlands, saying that they would remain independent, the French declared war on the Germans. With France being quickly joined by Denmark, Italy, and Russia, the Germans agreed to let go of the Netherlands and go back to pre-war borders.
The people of Europe sighed in relief; they thought war was averted. Then, a Serbian assassin killed Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria. The Austrians, thinking that the assassin was linked to the Serbian government, declared war. France, Denmark, Italy, and Russia (now informally known as the European Anti-Agressiveness Pact) declared war on Austria, thinking that they were being aggressive. The Austrians called to the Germans for help, but before they got an answer, Kaiser Sonoreal I abdicated the throne with no heirs, leaving the country in no place to help out.
The EAAP's first attack was the Italians attacking the ethnically Italian Trento. Although the Austrians had correctly thought that the Italians would attack, and so defended the town, they were defeated by the Italian Army, which was met with almost no resistance by the civilians.
Unhappier civilians, however, were more abundant on the other side of Austria. The Austrians had set up a defensive line, but most of it was too deep within Austrian territory and thus most of the Russian's attack was not met with armed resistance. Parts of the line, however, did border Russian territory. Although the west side of the line was defeated by Russian soldiers, in a small town along the Black Sea, the Russian army was miraculously defeated by the Austrian defensive line.
Although the French and Dutch did not attack, they likely have plans to attack soon enough. As for the future of Austria, our analysts nearly unanimously agree that Austria is doomed unless they get some allies.
OOC: Well, at least in this WWI Austria is the main target, not Germany.
