Escape From Zombie Island 0: The Prequel

Well, as a compromise b/w no civ color and civ color, I'll just make the belt and hat rim civ color, :). And the whip won't be that hard to do...

Sounds good! Can't wait to see the final product.

CC-2224 - it depends on the unit. Bren dude`s animations play like he has a BFG in his hands at all times, it would be hard to make him look anything but weird when holding a pistol. You have to manually edit each animation frame.

Unit animations usually have 15 frames. In 8 directions. There are usually 7 or 8 animations per unit. Thats cca 840 frames to edit, and you only get to work with pixels. Very tedious.

In Poser, you just have to grab the little dude`s arm, stretch it out and make little *bang* twitches.. Well, its a simplified explanation, but still.. It really would be easier to just make a new one concerning this particular unit.

Thanks for clearing it up, I wasn't sure just how difficult it would be.

:hmm: We could use your Chakra thrower for some kind of retired Olympic discus thrower... We could also use your Space Marine Sniper for some kind of failed cyborg science experiment by the corporation.

ideas for another unit or for this unit? i think indy looks fine as he is

If for another unit I think a city policeman would be nice, I know there is state police out there by navydog but city police look a little different

There's already a Riot Police unit by Shiro that is pretty urban. In my opinion, I think we should try to use already made units - that way it's less work for Odin.

We could also use NavyDawg's superheroes. Maybe the zapper was an Electrician that was electrocuted when attacked by the zombies?

Not just any electrician, but an electrician who was wearing a super-hero outfit for Halloween! He just had to tamper with that flickering streetlight when the zombies were coming...

The superhero one sounds good! Definitely should be added.

Well, if you're going to use Halloween as the premise, you could also use Hikaro's Viera units. I think either the Viera Gunner or Viera Sniper could be used. Maybe like this:

Tammy Anderson

Desc.: Tammy is a pre-teen nerd that loves video games...WAY TOO MUCH! Her decision to go as one of her favorite Final Fantasy characters to her school's Halloween party not only got her snears and snickers, she left the place with multiple swirlies. Just as she was about to leave, she saw the school's policeman face-flat on the ground. She ran over to him to see what was wrong, when suddenly the pale, dead body jumped up and started trying to bite her! She grabbed the rifle the policeman had dropped nearby and blasted the zombie's head to smithereens. The sudden screams coming from inside the school's auditorium (where the Halloween party was being held) startled her. As the doors slammed open and a hoarde of mindless zombies came running out, she took aim and started capping all those RPG-hating preps and jocks that had done her wrong prior! Time to kick some zombie ass...FINAL FANTASY STYLE!

---

You could of course replace all that with a guy named Jimmy Anderson and use the Cloud unit which might be a bit more representative of Final Fantasy games.

 Great idea!

We could also use NavyDawg's Jedi Padawan for a kid who decided to dress up as a Jedi and is attacked by Zombies.

I'll leave the info up to you guys, as humor really isn't my strong point.

Alright, Larry the Electrician is in, ;).

Dude, that is f*cking awesome dude. She's in. Keep up with the ideas, but it would be nice to have heroes for other civs, too.

Yeah, Graham is already in, as a Halloween upgrade.

.. would be better if Tammy was a .. "hostess", with them bunny ears..

I could throw in a Playmate too...

I was considering this actually and am really serious about actually doing it. Once I got other things done, I was going to start it. This may take a very long time though.

thats great! I actually posted some ideas at the efzi2 remake thread about something similar: (quote with some changes)

*************QUOTE*****
What i meant with attacking everything, i just meant that zombs are stupid and bloodthirsty, meaning that they don't care if the human unit next to them is stronger, they just brainlessly attack. In the game they behave quite smart (well, as far as the civ3 AI could be considered "smart"). If that can't be changed, what about a king unit in the overpowered capitol that is the mother of the zombs which kept her intelligence and now coordinates telepathically the hordes, while she is breeding some new species? That would explain the whole concept, like making the tech upgrades of the zombs more reasonable, as well as the whole AI behavior. Also it would give the human players another way of victory, by concentrating their whole remaining force to the zomb capital if its not going that well.

And here's a whole new concept which i think is more realistic than efzi2 (concerning most zombie films):

Zombs are supposed to be slow or fast and come in huge masses. Their main power is the sheer mass, not overpowered units. I know this comes to a conflict with the bombard units, but if you base your scenario on zombie films, there should be only very few super zombies, which would be crazily overpowered and fast (maybe even blitz), and a seemingly infinite mass of lesser zombs with two points of movement (like in 28, dawn of the dead etc), that comes in "waves". At the same time, the authorities would be very few, and just trying to stay alive, with no ability to create new units but only upgrade their older ones after some time (beeing explained by the fighting experience). Also, there would be some turns where massive reinforcements from the mainland come to their aid, just a little bit after the (few) super zombs and a double or triple zombie wave appear and raze some buildings you cannot save, making your game seemingly lost. That way, there would be some more suspense in the game and epic battles in the streets coming up between authorities and zombs.

Of course that's a huge change of concept and needs to be planed from the start, but it would be an idea for a possible sequel based on this scenario (even on the same island). If you're interested in something like that, ive got some nice ideas about such a scenario, concerning the other fractions

********END OF QUOTE*******

well these are some ideas for a possible sequel (in this case prequel) of EFZI2 i posted, so feel free to use any ideas you like. I know they aren't that humorous but they are more of a concept than specific ideas.

This scenario needs a unit like this:

Think anyone would be interested in making it

Hmmm, would there be room for Plot's Voodoo Doll unit anywhere in this? It seems a shame to not use it and since you are involving Egyptian mythology, would it not be thinkable to use a bit of voodoo here and there. Zombies do stem from voodooism afterall. Sorry for not ellaborating further on this idea, but my creativity is lacking at the moment.
