Escape From Zombie Island Unit Requests

Plotinus... The Alpha Zombie is what started it all and are, as I see them, from "regular people" who became the Initial Zombies. That said, the Alpha Zombie would be best as a "Super Normal" type because lets say they have more Virus and are more Powerful and or evolved from the initial Virus and longer term development. A sort of Fresh and Powerful dose of the Virus made them not only what started it all but more powerful.
This means they could look like what you have there but would have "Civilian Clothing" and Blue/Grey Skin Tones. I think it is more than ok to have them be a little larger than the Other Zombies with the exception of the Monster Zombies. There are many ways the Looks can go so there is "Artistic License" for that...They simply represent what started it all and I think are more powerful due to the Fresh Powerful Dose of Virus as well as having been around longer to evolve stronger but without so much Mutation. Probably worn clothes or tears here and there.
...Are you considering making this Unit? IF so.....:D

Well, I *might* make it! Really I was just wondering what a very muscly Zombie would look like. I'll see if I can make some more civilian-type clothing (it might be hard to get it to fit, and I'm not very good at doing the rips and tears). If this works and I just re-use some of the animations that I had for the nurse, it might not take too long...

The body looks... warped. Kind of what I imagine happens to people when they go in to be the guinnea pig in a drugs test. I'd say thumbs up!

You little beauty Plotinus. I don't think they should have civilian clothing though -these are lab subjects so would have a sort of hospital theatre gown on or just be naked.

Yes, thinking about it, the Alpha Zombie would be better with no shirt or just a gown since he was experimented on and would not put on his normal clothes after  Perhaps some Skin textures in livid color could be placed if you have a fast way. If a Gown is too much trouble, he would be fine without a shirt...then if you can add some skin textures to sort of make him have that "yes, I am the Alpha Zombie who went through it all from the start" type thing...that would also be a nice added touch.

All right, here he is with bluer skin and a hospital gown. I could make him more blue and "glowy" than this if you wanted.

You can tell it's a proper hospital gown - no back!

Plotinus... The Skin Tones are as they should be. The Gown, if anything, could be made a little Dingy and or Blood Splattered.
I found it easiest to paste images onto a Map ScreenShot to see more what a unit will look like in the game because this game uses very dark, high contrast and units will look different then on a "normal" Bright Map. Subtle colors will show very well.
Here is a ScreenShot of your Unit on the Map. Note that I had to use what you uploaded here with no alpha.pal palette so I removed all magenta shades which includes shadows under and around the unit but you can see that the Skin Tones are Exactly what is needed.
This is a bmp Zip so you can use the background to test what your unit will look like as you render.http://forums.civfanatics.com/uploads/4870/MapScreenShot.zip

Spacer One...that units doesn't really have any definition of shades and would have a "Cartoon Look" so I don't believe we would use him.

That's coming along great Plotinus - I like the hospital gown and if you an make it blood spattered as Vuldacon said then all the better.

That looks pretty cool! Thanks for doing that. I only rendered the sample animations - no full flcs or anything - so I hadn't looked at it against a more natural background.

I can certainly add a few bloodstains to his gown. Should be good. Do you think he's the right size? His height is 5/4 normal, which I thought would probably be about right - big, but not monstrously so. It's easy to change though.

Even smaller Plotinus because I was thinking ;) if possible an enlarged version (minus the gown) could be used as our Monster Zombie: two units for the price of one?

Plotinus... Funny you mentioned the size now because I just finished comparing the Monster Zombie and Romero Zombie in the game now with the current size of your Unit. The Monster Zombie is 20% larger than the Romero Zombie and your Unit is a bit larger than the Monster Zombie. Of Course he has a larger Body in width which looks strong as it should but perhaps it would be better to downsize him about 8%. I think just a small decrease would be more in keeping with the other Zombies and yet he would remain much larger and stronger looking. Alpha Zombies should be less than 20% larger than the size of the Romero Zombie. With the Body Width, your Unit will appear larger even if it was the same height.
I think a Monster Zombie should be no more than 30% larger than the Romero Zombie and I would have resized the Romero Zombie to 30% larger rather then 20% but when resizing larger, the pixels become larger Blocks and do not look good at much larger sizes. MoscaTnt has the Files and I had no way to contact him about an increase in size.

Personally, I would like to have all units be distinctively different so they appear more special in the game. That said, Plotinus, IF the Alpha Zombie you are working on now could be changed in color and No Shirt or different skin lesions, etc... and 30% larger then the Romero Zombie...that would probably work very well.

I agree with you about distinctness Vuldcacon. I was just coming from the direction that the alpha looks more plausible as a Monster Zombie than the resized romero zombie who also happens to have a monster sized shirt and tie as well as body LOL.

I'm getting confused now... are you suggesting that this unit stay the same size and keep the gown to be the Alpha Zombie and that I do a Monster Zombie as well, based on the same model but bigger and wearing less and a different colour? That could be done, though it would take longer! Or would you prefer just a large version of this to be a Monster Zombie and keep the Alpha Zombie graphic that you're currently using? I'm not sure exactly what you want the Monster Zombie to look like, though.

In any case, here's an Alpha Zombie with bloodstains. He is now 112% normal height (he was 125% before)...

By the way, this is what he'd look like if he were 150% normal height - cool!

Hi Plotinus sorry for was pushing my luck with requesting another unit.

What I meant was keep the model with gown normal size and this would be used as our Alpha.

Then a 150% one (like the one you posted) without the gown could be used as a Monster Zombie and a bloody, scary Monster Zombie at that!

The Blood Stains Look Great Plotinus...I like that. The only thing I see that I would prefer changed is the amount of Limp. As you know any hesitation in the walk or run will create sound problems so if possible, keep him constantly moving forward as he limps.
IF you want to make a Monster Zombie, I think the same animations would be fine but without the Gown and change the Skin Color to Greenish Blue...Blood Stains on the Skin. 150% could be checked out as for size to see how it looks with the others. Could be very Cool.

King Arthur...I agree totally and prefer to have a different Monster Zombie as well. As you know, I only enlarged and Colored the Romero Zombie to serve as a better Monster Zombie than the Earth Elemental for now. Same for the Alpha Zombie and also the Nuclear Zombie....all could be made as specific different units and as we discussed, they will be. These "substitutes" are simply better than what was there and I would not want Plotinus to be put out making another Unit as well. Takes a fair amount of work to even change a unit with all the files necessary so Just want to be sure that if anyone puts themselves out to make a Unit, it will be The Final Unit used.
..and yes, the Large Body Size of the Alpha Zombie that Plotinus is working on, especially if enlarged, would be far better than the re-colored and enlarged Romero Zombie in now as the Monster Zombie. IF I had known these units would be made now, I would not have wasted time with trying to make any better "substitutes" for use until better units could be made, which I was under the impression would be after the release. Sounds will have to be made for any new units which will require some time to do as well, unless the new units are made to use the sounds already made but that would require analysis and adaptation.

OK, I'll have a go at making the Alpha Zombie as he currently is. Now it's possible that when that's done I'll be able to do a Monster Zombie as well, although to be honest if I did that I'd prefer to give him quite a different look from the Alpha Zombie. Maybe even chunkier! But that would mean that it would take longer, so chances are it might not be possible at all.

[Vuldacon] You're right that the walk needs a bit of work. I just copied the animation from the nurse. I remember that you corrected that animation in the final version, so I'll probably see if I can incorporate that correction into this one too.

Plotinus... Great...IF only one unit can be made, the Alpha Zombie as you are doing is my "Vote" and I believe King Arthur's as well. He is Looking Superb and far better than having to use a Re-colored Romero Zombie for it.

I totally agree with you on making a Monster Zombie have a different look. Chunkier, etc...This could be accomplished without too much time if you use the basic same animations and just do some alterations of the Body, skin color and no gown. Any lesions or blood stains added would also enhanse the Monster Zombie and provide a Different look as well. "Artistic License" is certainly there so no pressure and you can play around to see what you think looks Great to you.

...IF you have the time and want to make a Monster Zombie after this Alpha Zombie, that will be Much Appreciated and also add yet another Great Improvement to the Game. You have a "Good Eye" and sense of what looks Great and is wanted so I am sure if you make a Monster Zombie he will be Wonderful. Just see how things go for you and you can decide after completing the Alpha Zombie.

Would you like me to put a * next to the Alpha Zombie?
