Escape From Zombie Island Unit Requests

Vuldacon - No Supa did indeed kindly say he would tackle the Monster Zombie.

Sorry Supa, my fault for getting carried away. I'd love you to do the Monster Zombie.

Good. :) So.. How should be the Monster Zombie ? I think of him as a giant ogrish zombie, ready to fight a tank all by himself. It's probably a reminiscent vision of the "Gigante" of RE4 and current golem used in EfZI2. Yay or nay ?

Three Units I would really like to see Specific Units for in the game are the Farmhands, Armed Farmhands and Spunky Kids. The Medieval Resistor and Hobbit really do not exactly fit for them...the clothes and hair mainly do not fit from the Medieval Resistor and the Hobbit is Not a Kid.
...those units should be added to the List of desired Units.

Supa... The Monster Zombie should be around 30% larger then the Romero Zombie. this is about 1/3rd larger which will appear very large in the game. IF he is made too large it would detract from the realism such as the size of the Earth Elemental did.
Subdued Greenish Blue Skin Tones with Bloody Lesions. Bare foot and probably only torn or ragged pants because he would obviously have outgrown his clothes. He should have a Strong look like the "Incredible Hulk" and yet retain the Zombie Mentality of being slow mentally as well as movement but Very Powerful and Scary.
Artistic license is always available so the Feel and Look you see can be incorporated. It is always best to feel free to accomplish work as one wants to have the inspiration and artistic expression needed to make a Great Unit.

Supa hulk like as Vuldacon said - i.e. more breadth than height.

How's the farmers daughter coming along - I couldn't view the last preview I'm afraid.

I'm getting used to the dynamic clothing. The run loops at least.

Green is civ-colors. She's supposed to be all blonde, you should ignore the darker tone in her hair (if not, she's a little to 50' ;)). She's got a shotgun on her back but you can see it in SE.

Suggestions ?

Yes, she is Looking Very Good Supa and I can see part of the Shotgun as well. I agree that the Darker area inthe Hair is a Hair Band.

As for the Monster Zombie, Please do not make it larger than around 1/3rd larger than the Romero Zombie in Height. Especially because I made the Map Graphics Dark with High Contrast so it would appear with that Mid-Night Look, Units will look very large and distinct against and amongst the Map Graphics in the game. Use a ScreenShot of the Game Map to get a better Idea of what your Units will look like in the game. This will also help you to see colors as well as get a Good Idea of the height.

I like the farmer's daughter! I wonder what she'd look like if the shirt were check? I'm just thinking country here...

Is it the ponytail that's dynamic? Very interesting if it is - you've got great movement there. It really adds life to the character.

Something like that :

Unfortunatly, the motif doesn't look very good at civ-scale. And I think the shotgun wouldn't be noticeable.. Unless I use a lighter tone. Mmh.

Well, I've got some problems with the ponytail actually. It's not noticeable from front, but it goes through everything and end up in the body and if I use collision detection, it does some very strange effects. I'll work that out and I'll try to keep the dynamic mvt.

You can see I removed the fake hair-band. ;)

Ah, I see, I didn't realise that was check! I was imagining a version with smaller squares. But perhaps that wouldn't show up at all at civ-scale - perhaps it's best as it is.

The hair looks awkward. There are lots of settings that you can fiddle with in the Cloth Room, as no doubt you've discovered - perhaps making it lighter will help prevent it from going into the body. However, you don't get much return for hours messing with these settings - I find the performance of the cloth to be very unpredictable and usually quite flawed. In this case you may be better off turning the ponytail into a poseable figure, with a couple of bones, and manually making it bounce up and down. Probably a hassle but this method usually produces more reliable results. I actually made the hospital gown modelled by the Alpha Zombie preview this way - it's a long rectangle, clothified and draped over him, and then turned into conformable clothing in the Setup Room. Although it did prove harder than I expected to conform it to a distorted PDM, which is what the main figure is.

OH Yes...I like that Supa...The Colored Blouse looks better than the plain light one. Do you have a way of adding Polka Dots or is that a problematic situation? IF not I think Polka Dots are the Quintessential Farmer"s Daughter Wear
BTW, the Hair Band was ok because Farmer's daughters like to try and look "uptown" too lol. IF that will help with the Hair situation.

White blouse with red poka dots would be the way to go. But I really like the way she's turning out.
