Expanded Dynamic Civ Names (EDCNs)

Yeah it is now. Sorry about that.

Added some tweaks to French, Spanish, English, Turkish, and American vassal names.

Fascist names can no longer appear before the discovery of Fascism, as I feel the Industrial Era limit I introduced earlier is not enough.

It is too much related to this topic so I post it here instead of the Completely Dumb Ideas thread.

Can some civs have easter egg names? It isn't trigger by anything ingame, but with a hidden key-combination by the player. (No matter the size of the empire, civics, capital etc) If you do nothing, the easter egg name will never appear.

You can only change the name of the civ your playing. So as Germany, I can't change the name of England for example.

Example: When you use ctrl+r (or any other chosen combination), the Dynamic name will turn to something like "Murica!".

I don't think it can be done by simple Phyton/XML thing... things like "Ctrl +" are inherited from the base game Firaxis created.

That's not true, key strokes trigger a Python event. So you definitely could change civ names with a key combination, especially if you don't mind it changing back when the next DCN change is triggered.

iOnlySignIn, i have to disagree on iraq being involved with Babylonian dynamic names. This is because Iraq is Arab. There is already a civ representing the arabs. Babylon has gone also over 2 thousand years by that point as a independent entity. literally the only tying point the two have is geographic area.

Deadwartin, you may find that the majority of people in this world, especially the Iraqi people, disagree with you. I choose their judgment over yours.

Also, by your logic, we already have at least eight different civs representing "Arabs": Moors, Mali, respawn Egypt, Arabia, Turkey, respawn Persia, Mughals, Indonesia - nine if you count the Seljuks. You would have to argue (in another thread, I hope) for the removal of seven of those eight civs first before you can convince me.

Do you mean Muslims, IOSI? Because in that list, only the Arabians are actually Arabs. Respawn Egypt and the Moors come close, but respawn Egypt is culturally yet not genetically Arab (for the most part), and the Moors as envisioned in this mod have a Berber ethnic component. The rest of these civs are certainly Muslim but definitely not Arab.

Except a vast majority of Iraqis are Arabs
Have you asked any of the Iraqis about this? I have.

will you add dynamic name for China as Xia and as Shang too? It's missing.
Certainly not Xia as it is mostly imaginary.

As for Shang, there is simply very little game time for it. On Normal Speed it would amount to about ten turns. Zhou itself already appears very early and very briefly to be replaced by Qin (before my modifications, Zhou has no chance of appearing at all). For this same reason Kingdom of Wessex is not a DCN for England, neither is Kingdom of Asturias for Spain. The blanket term "Middle Country of China" (the Indian equivalent of this would be Bharata Khanda, which I have added) will have to do.

No? Whether you like it or not, the Iraqis are Arabs. That's why, during the Iran-Iraq War, Iraqi propaganda paralleled the Battle of al-Qādisiyyah with the Iraqi victories against Iran.
Yeah, war time propaganda is a reliable source of ethnic and cultural information.

By all means tell me how the Germans are Indians, the French are Celts, and the Greeks and Romans are gods.

If you aren't interested in listening, why did you ask for input?
I am spending a considerable amount of time listening. Otherwise you wouldn't have received a word of response from me.

Listening does not equal agreeing though, something you should be very well aware of.
