Fall Further Plus

This.

I'd have generally thought the specific notation that it's not compatible with FFPlus, would stop people from asking if it's compatible with FFPlus. sorry to be so mad. :hide:

The specific notation isn't the problem, it's a shining beacon of clarity that I commend you for. The problem is all of the other vague and potentially contradictory things out there. Even if you're being clear, not everyone else always is, so that throws everything into doubt. It reminds me of a while ago when people kept referring to "the most recent patch" of FFH2 when a new patch was coming out almost every day.

The problem lies in the fact that the installation for FF says that your patch is required for compatibility with FFH2041. To anyone who isn't familiar with the inner workings of how the mods draw on each other, that can seem like a contradiction with your notes on the unofficial patch, and cause questions. Common sense, in the absence of more detailed knowledge, would indicate that each mod must function properly before adding something else to it. The fact that that's an incorrect assumption doesn't keep it from being intuitive.

on another note ... any words from the dev team of FF on the new patch? Or, what im thinking, is it is best to wait for the patch c to arrive which will fix adaptive and insanity (hopefully)

I'm having a problem fighting ... anyone really. the problem is this: defensive units (archers and gunners) seem incredibly over powered. He had 4 longbowmen and a Arquebus and i had lord D'Tesh 4 Chosen of D'Tesh 7 adepts 12 horse archers 10 catapults and 12 skeletons. I was not assulting across a river or by boat btw. After bombarding the city once (down to 0%) i attacked with everything and everything of mine died. This is not the first time this has happened to me either. I think that there are not enough powerful units that you can have more that 4 of to fight a city that has even 7 archer-type units on it. unless of course me and my friend have overlooked some strategy in which they are in fact killable ...

1. Promote your cannon fodder units to Drill I and II (and III if possible) This will keep their chances of victory at near 0, but will VASTLY increase their odds of wounding the enemy before they die.

2. Rush Sorcery, use Fire II and Air II to wear down enemies

3. Use Siege weapons for Ranged attacks. They do collateral damage, allowing them to weaken many troops at once.

4. When fighting an entrenched enemy, you must outnumber them four to one. This is a general rule that applies in the real world, but is generally relevant here. Bring STUPIDLY OVERWHELMING numbers, if you wish to win.

5. Use cavalry for hit and run attacks. This is one strategy I don't approve of, as it makes no sense. But if you prmote your cavalry along the Flanking line only (then drill if they survive that long) you'll have some incredible units for weakening defenders.

6. Archers, ranged attacks. Use lots of them. Wear the enemy down before a strike by blotting out the sun with arrows.

7. Magic. Look to Chaos, Enchantment, and Death mana, for early offensive spells which are useful. Cast them on your axe/swordsmen, kill stuff.

When will this be compatible with FF51? I was playing this and thought it was excellent and then FFH2 updated. Can't wait to play it again. ALSO

[SHAMELESS PLUG]I started a mega story that involves some of the civs in this like an attempt at flavoring the Dural, the attempt to make the Ngomle a stronger world power, put more flavor behind the Chislev, and generally just trying to create more stories to go around. I like feedback and ideas from any one who decides to lurk. I'd also love ideas for wars, problems between nations, characters, even new civs. So check it out.[/SHAMELESS PLUG]

Still can't wait to play this again. :)

@Deathmaker,

gotta use those catapults a few turns, use their ranged bombardment to lower the enemy health. You should also bring some mages (if you have the sorcery tech yet) and cast a bunch of fireballs at the city. And finally, due to the high withdrawal rate of catapults, you should have your catapults directly attack the city just before you stage your assault. But in any case, be aware of the enemy promotions, a longbowman with combat 5 city defense 3 and drill 4 will be able to kill anything short of a super hero like the Avatar or a dragon. it is best to use expendable troops like charioteers, horsemen, etc. oh, and assassins, to pick off the ones you damage. Being as you are D'tesh, you should also try to acquire some mana sources to turn to death mana, since that directly improves your forces combat abilities.

BUG: No Fall Further+ for 051.

Oh, good. I really enjoy FF+. It's rather slow on my computer, but I'm gonna attempt to update its graphics card. Hurry up with that patch! :D

better beware when upgrading your computer. from what i hear civ4 cant handle multi-core processors.

oh, and the current version of ff+ has Duin's doviello imbued with lycanthropy already.

how can certain games not handle a multi-core? is it not an all around upgrade? Is it kinda like having two chain of commands or something?

how many games cannot handle duel processing yet?

Every game made before dual cores were "standard" cannot handle them. It isn't a straight upgrade, it is a change of how things work. It's like if I see you hauling a trailer with a Motorcycle, and so I point at an 18 Wheeler and how much better it is for Hauling. I then hand you 16 Wheels and drive off, content in the knowledge that you are now able to haul your load easier.

Problem is, your chasis was designed for 2 wheels. You gain NOTHING from the extra 16 wheels I handed you at all. If anything, they might even get in the way when you decide to haul them along for the trip.

IT doesn't matter too much. Most things that aren't capable of using multiple cores... can just not use multiple cores. A great many applications just run on one core of a multicore system. And windows seems to be smart enough to schedule them in a manner so that the unutilised core is free for other things. Which is why I can browse and post here while blender's rendering engine uses half my cpu - I have two cores :D

Unrelated, Xienwolf just released Patch B. So you have even more work to do in updating FF+ and merging stuff. :D
