Farownes02 Revived!!!!

i see you point... Thanks! I am really more of a builder.... Ontania would be very nice.... When are orders due?

EDIT: Ontania is in Civil war! Ramain!

Ontania is not in a civil war... That is why I said they were united :)

@ Farrow, a Few questions...

how do you increase Infanstructure without size?
Education?
Those are my basic questions first... orders comming up

Okay, if you increase infrastructure size will not go up. To increase infrastructure you multiply size by your current level. For instance if your size was 2 and your infrastructure was 1 it would cost 2 points to increase it. Education is the same way except with population.

I have already started updating. Just stating those who have not yet sent orders to do so now. They still can be in the update if they send in orders by 8:00 my time which now is about 20 minutes.

Well. I'm a bit sorry about that, but I do have performances of one thing or another every day this weekend, so I hope you'll forgive me.

@North King, you are forgiven of course. We all have things that get in the way sometimes. I just couldn't keep stalling the update when people got their orders in.

New Nation: Chamorroka Tribe

The Chamorroka Tribe has arisin in the northern half of the cradle controlling considerable amount of territory. However, they are completely boxed in to the north by Oslan nations and Hyoln.

Oslan Migrations End: Assimilation into the Great Valley Culture

Oslan migrations have screeched to a halt thanks to the expansion of Tephen and Keeleh. Also, due to the aggressive missionary activity of Tephen and Terra Trifluentia has made many breakthroughs. Many of the tribes have begun to move away from their old beliefs towards Veneratio Avatorum. However, Dualism has become another popular religion thanks to the Moldvi tribe.

Taruq’s Coup in Dilhava: With help of the Bhatoist Church?

Ever since the First Bhatoist Crusades the relationship between Dilhava and the Bhatoist Church has been strained. The Dilhavan Crown has refused to submit to the orders of Neptanian unlike all other Bhatoist nations. With the recent declaration of the crusades once again Dilhava refused to fight in T’lur Pa. They of course had a valid reason to do so given internal strife and invasion by Taruq. Once again the Neptanian Church was furious and through their support behind the Taruq invaders under one condition that the Dilhavan peninsula remain a vassal to Neptanian.

Taruq continued its vicious military campaign often finding scattered resistance. As they pushed deeper and deeper into Dilhava they often hired locals and mercenaries to continue the advance into the jungles. The Taruq cavalry became more of a limited support as Taruq poured money into bribing local officials to join them. The leader of Cascades was declared the King of the Cascadian Empire with permission of Taruq’s Warlord. He is the son of Taruq Warlord put in charge of Cascades (last turn) where he in order to consolidate his rule converted to Bhatoism. With his troops he was given charge of finishing off Dilhava which he has largely succeeded at creating his own empire which only survives so long as Taruq supports it.

Vlakan Assimilation into Hyoln

The Vlakan have begun to the slow assimilation into the Hyolnian nation. Many of the people have begun to mix with the Hyoln natives. Also, active Dualist conversion efforts have made cultural acceptance easier for Hyoln. The Vlakan have proved to be a reliable army now being regarded even more important then the Glikanhra's Warriors in battle. Their skill in horsemanship proved essential in defeating the Oslan tribes and may be even more essential in helping their Moldvi allies against Terra Trifluentia.

Veneratio Avatorum Genocide: Moldvi and T’lur Pa

As Terra Trifluentia advanced into the Moldvi state they discovered horrors inflicted on the Veneratio Avatorum natives. Moldvi even before it was a Dualist had just slaughtered these people. Once the conversion to Dualism had begun all other faiths had been declared illegal to practice in public. Most who defied these orders were executed or used as slaves to build fortifications.

Despite this in the rural areas in the east and south small communities had survived the persecution. They welcomed Terrians as liberators but they were simply not numerous enough to make a difference in the upcoming battles.

In T’lur Pa the cleansing of the Veneratio Avatorum followers was similar to that inflicted on the Fizcaithians. Thousands and thousands were killed if they refused to convert. The nation of T’lur Pa is now a Bhatoist nation and how long it remains so will be answered by if the Bhatoists defeat Terra Trifluentia.

Ortzi Annexation and Devastation

Ortzi was the center of success for Terrian conversion efforts amongst barbarians. These people descendants of the ancient dog worshippers and heavy Bashini influences rose to dominate a large area. With Taruq advancing in the south the chieftains moved closer to Terria Trifluentia for protection. Eventually, through diplomatic work the area was directly incorporated into the empire. This did not last long as Taruq came (see military events)

Fizcait on the Rise: Decline in Atheism

The problem of being the only Atheist nation if Fizcait was that it made difficult for Fizcaithian merchants to mingle with their Bhatoist counterparts. Many coverted to Bhatoism to ease relations and make trade deals much easier. Suddenly, the upper merchant class in Fizcait became mostly Bhatoist and many temples were being built across the nation. These magnificent temples funded by the merchants began to impress the local populace. Many of the atheist philosophers which are close to the monarchy are advising the king on another crackdown on religious toleration.

Ramain Rapid Economic Expansion

Thanks to the burgeoning Fizcait economy this in turn spread to Ramain. Also, economic ruin the Great Sea gave a chance for emerging merchants in the north to assert their importance on the Great Sea economy which had largely been centered south of Tereno. New markets and economies in the north are changing the way the Great Sea looks with more and more emphasize being placed north of Tereno.

(+TC, + Bonus Economy)

Keeleh is back
Keeleh is on its way back to reconsolidating its power over its new homeland. A new project is started in the nation called Kee's Magnificent Amphitheatre. Victory over the Oslan tribes still has been very costly and the Kee people will have to go through a similar recovery by Fizcait but at least they are united.

(+1 bonus economy)

Economic Ruin for the Great Sea

The Great Sea has faced a massive economic crisis. The River Animas long the sight of easy commercial access due to the relative stability of all the nations who have bordered it for many years. Now with Taruq, Oslan, Moldvi, Terrians, Bhatoists, and T’lurians all fighting for control of the region. Raids by Taruq and Oslan along the river’s banks have destroyed commercial connections from Terra Trifluentia to the Great Sea. The economic effect has been disastrous from Corenwal to Kaldur. With the collapse of Dilhava more commercial activity has collapsed in the south. The southern seas once clean of piracy and full of commercial activity is over. Taruq’s poor enforcement or lack of ability to do so has once again seen a spike in piracy in the Southern Great Sea which is spreading northwards.

(- 2 TC for Tereno, -TC for Terra Trifluentia, -TC Bhatoist Empire of Neptanian)

Fizcait

As the country faced its first trials as a unified nation which as not been seen since the beginning of the first Bhatoist Crusades. The country still faces a north-south divided with the north more barbaric (different ethnicity and dialect) and less prosperous then the south. Also, the north embracing foreign religions has put pressure on the atheists on the south to prevent the Bhatoists from making a majority in the nation.

Colonial self-government?

The rising costs of Tereno’s vast colonial empire have caused many to advocate colonial self-governments. These colonies would be dependent on Tereno for survival militarily but with them managing their own affairs upkeep costs would be dramatically reduced.

(Iggy I will PM you on this and see if you like my idea).

Tampla Annexation

Tampla which has grown economically and politically tied to Tereno has officially joined the nation. With the death of their king and no heirs the country was on the verge of collapsing into civil war. However, the nobles fearing loss of power and bribed by Tereno supported the accession of the Tereno King to their throne.

+1 TC to Tereno, + Tampla's army

Golden Age for Tereno

Thanks to the neutrality in the spreading conflicts across the Great Sea Tereno has benefited greatly. Science and arts are thriving as the country moves towards a new age in learning. Their advancement in education is rivaled by no one.

Tereno continues to control the Great Sea trade and is continuously exploring and establishing colonies. This while straining the countries treasury has brought those contacts no nation share. The Talicad city-states discovered by Tereno are middle men in far off sea trade. Well it was far off until now.

Peace and Prosperity continue despite the Great Sea economic hit.

(+Early Classical Age)

Vencian Peace and Recovery

Vencia despite its loss in the war has recovered but the country will for as long as Hyoln remains strong are a vassal. The army and navy are capped as well as the economic payment by war reparations and tribute payments. With the end of war trade has resumed with Hyoln and its neighbors. The economy mostly based on commerce has rebounded very quickly.

Wars and Conflicts

Taruq and Bhatoist Cooperation: A War against Veneratio Avatorum

The coup against Dilhava obviously required many conspirators other then Taruq but from Neptanian itself. There is even word that more nations were involved in their downfall other then just those two attacking it from within. Taeuq and Neptanian made an agreement to divide up both T’lur Pa and Dilhava as a sign of goodwill so that each other could be trusted in a coordinated assault on Terra Trifluentia.

The war started with Taruq coming up from the south to bypass Terrian fortifications and hit Kaldur from the west. At the same moment Bhatoist troops would destroy Kalduria and proceed to attack the front of the Terrian fortifications. The invasion of Bhatoist troops into Kalduria was costly and filled with ambushes by civilians and military alike. The Bhatoist troops were just too overwhelming in number and with Taruq support proceeded to slaughter the civilian populace. Over 50,000 people were killed in the ensuing years mostly from starvation but many were also felled by the sword. Entire urban centers were abandoned or burned to the ground by the invaders.

Once the Bhatoist troops made it to the massive fortifications in Kaldur their advance stopped. T’lur Pa had been conquered and the church was now satisfied. If Taruq wanted to fight on they could but in no way was Neptanian going to assist Tartuq become even more powerful. This betrayal by the troops of Neptanian angered Taruq but it was too late now they had already attack the Terrians which they would not have to deal with alone.

The Terrian infantry defending Ortzi were quickly overwhelmed and surrounded as Terrian reinforcements from the Moldvi campaign raced to reinforce the army defending the Terrian heartland. The advantage of cavalry over infantry in the open fields became quickly apparent so the army was forced back to defend fortifications and urban centers. Taruq just decimated the Ortzi people forcing them to flee the lands back up to Terra Trifluentia. Fear quickly spread across the empire’s troops as dozens of contingents just abandoned their ranks feeing northward. However, the training and discipline held the Terrian army together.

Once Taruq gets siege wquipment to the front Terria Trifluentia will have to struggle for its very own survival. With nearly 15,000 cavalry running amuck in Terrian proper the economic and political situation is growing worse every day.

Taruq had failed to break their enemies through fear. Sige While the control or were slowly gaining control of the vast fertile plains they had no siege equipment to deal Terra Trifluentia the death blow. The Terrians on the other hand needed cavalry fast in order to defeat Taruq’s armies. The war had stalled for now but the lines were now clearly drawn.

Oslan has launched massive raids across the Terrian border following the weakning of the border guard to face other challenges.

(Terra Trifluentia -2,000 infantry, Taruq - 4000 cavalry, Bhatoist Empire -5,000 infantry, -2000 cavalry)

Illion Civil War: An end to a Dictatorship

In Illion changes have made moving Illion from a military dictatorship to two distinct kingdoms. In Pylae the general has formed a clear line of succession of his rule leaving a monarchy established while the same in Nosia happened. The two both disputed control over what remained of Illion going as far to declare war on each other. Illion was sledge hammered by the two sides with the whole nation but the capital occupied.

(-Illion as a nation)

Dualist defend Moldvi

In order to open Modlvi to Veneratio Avatorum an attack was launched with over 15,000 excellent Terrian infantry. Their opponent was 11,000 axe men and a few thousand regular infantry. The first battle took place a little south of Molvi which 5,000 axe men ambushed the Terrian armies advance towards Molvi. A lot of men and supplies were lost on the advance towards Molvi. However, they were forced to withdraw to defend the capital. Moldvi put nearly 6,000 axe men and 2,000 infantry to defend the capital. The Terrian armies were not numerous enough to quickly take the city so a long siege ensued. Using new siege equipment the capital of Moldvi was being battered and starved. The city lasted four years before it finally gave out. The army within made one last charge out of the city walls to break the encirclement. They of course were slaughtered.

Modlvi’s remaining troops fled northwards setting up small camps of resistance all over the nation. A mountain known as Kcal in Modlvi became heavily foritified using the same stone brought down from it centuries ago by the Teredense refugees. Terra Tifluentia had to take 5,000 troops away from the Moldvi campaign to deal with the Oslan and Taruq invasions so any further attacks had to be halted on all the troops fortified in the three main cities maintaining a supply route but the country side remains very hostile.

(Moldvi -6,000 axe men, -2000 infantry, Terra Trifluentia - 6,000 infantry)

A Three-Way Religious Conflict

As the Great Valley’s major religions grow close to conflict the question remains which religion will emerge as the dominant faith after this war. Bhatoism is growing which has been neck in neck with the Veneratio Avatorum for many years. Dualism while much smaller then the other two has been gaining strength and numbers very rapidly. So this is the situation as we see it.

Dualism in direct war with Terra Trifluentia (If Hyoln helps Moldvi)
Bhatoism in direct war with Terra Trifluentia (If they decide to help Kalduria)

While Bhatoism and Dualism have no reason to fight eachother because of a common enemy but down the road anything is possible.

Spotlight

Rise and Fall: A story of Dilhava and T’lur Pa

Dilhava fell much faster then it rose as one of the major Great Sea civilizations. Dilhava was positioned on a peninsula that jutted out into the Great Sea. As Corenwal latter Bhatoist Empire colonized the region with T’lur pa and Tereno the nation bustled with trade. The wealth was funneled into making the capital one of the major centers of culture and power within the Great Sea. Over time the strength of Dilhava surpassed that of the Holy Bhatoist Empire of Neptanian in many areas but it never one the position to lead the Bhatoist Church. This would end up being its downfall along with its poor relations with the church. As the church intentially bred internal disorder along with heavy support of many Bhatoist nations coupled with Taruq invasions just devastated the empire. Factions fought for power as the king quickly lost control over his own army. Within weeks Dilhona was facing a coup supported by Taruq. Bhatoist Republic of Cascades only republic in name ruled by a Taruq general descended upon Dilhava quickly goblling up more then 3/4ths the original empire. Dilhona and Eaglal fell under Bhatoist control in an agreement with Taruq. It is still unknown what the fate of Dilhave is or if Cascades will replace Dilhava as the new regional power.

T’lur Pa was the only power that prevented a direct conflict between the Bhatoists and the Veneratio Avatorum followers. Their religious toleration facilitated growth of many faiths within the empire. This once again was the downfall of T’lur Pa was the great line of queens no longer had an heir which had not happened ever in the nation’s history. First lets look at what allowed T’lur Pa to grow quickly to rival even Terra Trifluentia in power. The first would be T’lur Pa’s position in the Great Sea. Its capital Waterside rose to dominate the River Animas fertile river delta. The abundant food made for quick population growth and soon Waterside’s influence was all over the Great Sea and as far inland as Tephen. Of course mercantile activity was limited to areas around Tereno and the River Animas but colonies were established far north for the luxurious animal pelts. Things did not stay rosy for ever as the succession crisis arose. The Veneratio Avatorum and Bhatoists had long since dominated the upper classes since it was advantageous to covert economically. The last Queen Airos passed away. In the fomer regions of Kaldur a new King arose to take the throne called King Adilis and the Bhatoists put forward a new another Queen called Arical. Ultimately, with Taruq’s assault on the empire neither side was strong enough to finish the other off let alone hold what gains they made. Kalduria split off in the west under King Adilis but remained under shaky support of Terra Trifluentia. In the east the Bhatoist reestablished order but the queen ruled only in name as the lands fell under direct rule of Neptanian.

OCC:

Justokre, you did not have any economy because your nation has been wrecked by invaders. I invested one EP into your project from plunder in defeating the tribes. Your economy will rebound shortly.

Charles Li , I would like a little more detail in your orders or I will not mention you in the update unless something significant happens. Prove everyone wrong that you are a capable NESer. If you need help ask your fellow players or ask me everyone is willing to help you to improve if you are.

I had to help put Christmas lights up all day today so I am trying to get stats up but I also have some homework to do. Schedule thrown off but orders will be due Saturday. Casualties for the wars will be up soon but they are not too high in the Terrian conflicts yet except of course in Modlvi. The week after this one there will be no update because of the holidays.

I have been making up the story since we have a ton of NPCs right now. If I start to overstep my boundaries please tell me. So far I think I have been fairly shaking up the status quo but if things get too unrealistic for you please PM me and I will consider your advice.

Also, if you would like to make your own natons in grey area or tribes PM me. I need ideas for cultures, cities, and names. Running out of ideas :).

Carmen150, if you want to buy Tereno's colonies you need to talk to Lord Iggy about it not me :).

Squares are areas being raided.

If I think of anything else I will post it here

Huming Cradle

From: Terra Trifluentia
To: Taruq

Betrayal, basest betrayal! We believed that you had humanity enough for two things--honoring the agreements you made and not slaughtering civilians. Both of these things have now been proved long. Make no mistake, this war will be long and deadly. Prepare your fortifications and hideaways now, for this is a war you cannot win.

From: Terra Trifluentia
To: Tephen, Keeleh

Fellow followers of Veneratio Atavorum, we have helped you many times over the centuries. We call upon you now in our hour of need, to ensure that civilization is not erased from this land. Let us fight together as the brothers we are, and triumph in our unity. (OOC: PM me.)

From: Terra Trifluentia
To: Hyoln

We regret the actions we had to take in Modlvi, but believe they were justified. Modlvi's government denied its people one of their basic rights--freedom to worship as they chose. Before taking action, we allowed the government sufficient time to fix their ways, and yet they did nothing--or it would have been better if they did nothing. For while they delayed, they committed the unspeakable crime of perpetrating war against their own people. We implore you, show your support for the people of Modlvi rather than the government which has proven itself illegitimate, and prove yourself truly civilized.

From: Terra Trifluenta
To: Sky Gods

Your nation has seen firsthand the destruction that comes from Taruq, and the betrayal they bring to those who ally with them. We implore you for assistance to combat this menace to civilization, who threatens the right of all peoples to worship as they choose.

Excellent update, Farow!

If I could make one complaint it's that the map is so cluttered that it's kind of hard to tell which country is which. Also I can't figure out who is at war with whom.

Yup, good stuff going on.

From Keeleh

You've got bigger fish to fry, and so do we. 4 turn NAP?

To the newborn nations of Butasif, Istarn, and Guartal
From Keeleh

As civilized peoples, surely you wish to trade with us and sign NAP agreements?

OOC: Nothing about Huming at all? Like the chaos and turmoil? ;)

I know the map has grown cluttered. I am trying my best to keep it organized. If you have a better method of organizing the names feel free to tell me.

Terra Trifluentia is at war with Taruq and Modlvi. The Bhatoists technically are not at war with Terra Trifluentia and neither are you but it depends if you want to help your brothers in faith.

OOC: Nothing about Huming at all? Like the chaos and turmoil? ;)

I actually skipped over that part but if you really want me to add something I can. Sheesh sends barely complete orders and expects mention in the update :p

Agreed.

Not a single word on me? Why? :( Will do diplo soon.

Sorry, and this is to justokre too. There was actually more to your two. I just had a half hour left and barely completed what is up currently. I will put more on you tomorrow. Be patient :). It will describe the military campaign in Keeleh a little more in detail.

OOC: My lack of orders had a reason! That was supposed to be a period of general chaos amongst the upper echelons of the Huming political structure that ends with one House being on top! :p But I guess it's better this way.

Hehe one last question for you Farow. I can't think of a better way to organize the map other than putting the names on the map (nearer to the actual space the nation takes up) and putting names on the edge.

Which nations are primarily Bhatoist?

Edit: Oh wait, nevermind, there's a whole Bhatoist alliance thing, haha.

I'd say put the names on the map, instead of around the edges. The edges work fine, early on, but later it gets really hard to figure out which one's supposed to refer to what.

Decloak: Just throw up a names map with nation names inside the borders (or at least inside the fog) on the front page.

Maybe you should commission a player to do a name map for ya, Farow... like me?

OOC: Great update Farow!
