In a fit of holiday levity, inspired by a recent viewing of John Cleese's hilarious cheese-shoppe antics, I present a poll to determine the Official Cheese of CFC, if such a thing is possible.
Okay, poll is up. If your fromage of choice is not presented, just say so in your post, but we won't bother counting it, because it will be marginal and guaranteed to win. But still post it, of course, out of interest.

Provolone ofcourse!

It tastes so good on a Subway Steak N' Cheese.

Out of all the different kinds of food i don't like, cheese is the worst.
Melted cheese on toast is probably one of the worst smells in existance aswell.
Conclusion: I don't have a favourite cheese...

Roquefort is pretty good. What the hell is Venezuelan Beaver Cheese, by the way?

Where is the Cantal ?

EDIT : Where's the Beaufort ? Where's the St Marcellin ? Where's the Maroilles ? Where's the Niolo ? Where's the Reblochon !!!!!

There's no choice in your poll !!

OMG so many nice cheses.
Iam a big eater of cheese.

why does it matter? what's the point in asking?

i like chedder on pizza (or goldfish) adn ony spicy kind (like the ones in those Steak Quesadillias at Taco Bell)

Parmesano Reggiano and Smoked Gouda. Can't decide between which.
Edit: I forgot feta! I sometimes eat the stuff by itself, actually (kind of an aquired taste, a bit too strong at first.)

I just like cheese. I voted randomly, but I think I lke them all the same. I'm a cheese monster!

Marla: there are only 20 choices. I can't fit all 186 French varieties on, unfortunately, and also see my initial comment regarding self-chosen cheeses. By all means, post a French-only cheese thread, if that's what floats your bateau.

Bah don't worry ! ;)

I understand you couldn't put them all. I'm simply fond of Cheese-diversity... I couldn't live only eating ONE cheese. But anyway, from the list above, I've found my favourite, it would be the parmesan. :)

But anyway, there's nothing compared to a tartiflette made with reblochon, a maroilles pie, or even a salad with a melted reblochon with honey and just a bit of cantal or beaufort on bread. That's so delicious !!

Gosh I love cheese....

I'm curious to see if anyone will vote for Limburger. I recently tried some for the first time, and let's just say its status as the world's smelliest cheese is entirely justified and then some. It's good, but only in small quantities and when other cheeses are available to cleanse the palate.

Since there are so many that I like for different occasions, meals, and reasons, I chose my favorite cheese in terms of the cheese that I most like to eat with the cheese as the main part of what I am eating. Given these conditions, I choose Brie. I love Brie melted with almonds, smeared on homemade French bread.

Another reason to move to France. :D A cheese for every day of the year...

"Tell me. . . have you, in fact, any cheese here at all?"
"Yes, sir."
"Really?"
"No. Not Really, sir."
"You haven't"
"No, sir. Not a scrap. I was deliberately wasting your time, sir."
"Well I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to shoot you now."
"Right-O, sir."
bang
"What a senseless waste of human life."
