Babylon!

Babylonia vs Argentina:

The umbrella term of 3000 years of ancient history in fertile crescent vs the birthplace of Tango and its airborn capital.

UU:
Asharitu bowman vs grenadier cavalry:
Asharitu like all super-UUs has the barrage effect. Grenadier cavalry has an awsome graphic but its special abilities just make it a worthwhile mounted unit in the rifles' era. Asharitu bowman wins.

UB:
Zigurat, the earliest culture/sciense oriented court vs the comercious Cold storage plant. Cold storage plant may start small, but it can surpass zigurat with ease.

UP:
Crandle of civs vs justicialism:
What UP can beat the crandle of civilizations? It is a rare case, that a one-use effect is so strong that beats a permament effect. Crandle of civilization wins.

UHC1:
Code of Gilgamesh vs San Martin's military abilities.
The foundation of writing, the technology that separates prehistory from history, the formation of codes, the divine right of kings, these mental achievements make these two generals negligible, almost invisible shadows in history.

UHC2:
The Babylonian metropolis vs international commerce center.
Many cities have been the most populus in the world, but becoming a world trade center in globalised economy is much more challenging.

UHC3:
Istar gate and hanging gardens vs Tango
I prefer dancing Tango than trying to sing cuneiforms :D. However, Babylonian culture is on solid base.

Babylon: 4
Argentina: 2

Babylon wins!

Historicity:
Mesopotamian city-states vs a former spanish colony:
Babylonia is as well represented in the game as Argentina.

Gameplay:
Babylonia is a city-state puzzle, while Argentina is centered in two to three cities. However, you can win a babylonian game and be the first in score without adopting a demanding strategy. If you want to be first in score as Argentina you will have to conquer almost all south America. So the balanced babylonian gameplay is better.

I'm going to be the lone dissenter, aren't I?

I don't play UHVs, and that's pretty much all Babylon can do, sooooo. (at least, I don't have near enough skill to guide Babylon to anything else)

You're not alone. I've never found Babylon that interesting, either in history or in game. The new South-American civs, on the other hand, are very interesting, fun to play, and spice up the late game. And Argentina is where the Tango is from, too.

I agree. They historically return Spain and Portugal to the second-rate European powers they are today, (no offence is intended to any Spanish or Portuguese forum-goers, BTW) and spice up the otherwise very boring South America. Kudos to Leoreth for them.
