[FfH II Art Team Blog]

I like Maros being short. Being smaller than even the other dwarves is what inspired him to become such a great defender. You could make a Disney movie based on it.

i know where i should investigate, but didnt invest any more time to do so. lets see how long it will take until i can concentrate on that again. still busy with the WW1 mod.

cool, and like chiggi said, must make a nice change from fantasy :)

Any word on the Sidar Horseman and Swordsman C. Roland?

I think he has only changed the graphics of the terrain art, not a dynamical replacement of the ocean terrain type. Besides, it goes about the blue rivers that would fall into a hell ocean and that is impossible.

But the slime ocean looks nice, replace the green with red and we have very bloody looking ocean.

I never liked the current Stygian Guard graphics (although they would be great for Fleash Golems), and their old graohics were actually among my favorites. I was thinking that I'd go back to their old graphics in my modmod, but I don't have the old versions of the mod anymore (since I had to replace my hard drive), and wouldn't be able to get them out of the Pak0.FPK file anyway.

Could you provide the .dds and .nif files for the old graphics, the way graphics were added in some recent patches?

(I also used to hate the new Drown graphics, but they have kind of grown on me. I prefer Sureshot's recoloration of them a little bit though, and may want to add those graphics to my modmod too.)

The old Parrot and Raven graphics would be good to have too (I'd like to have them added as civ specific graphics, probably just renaming Hawks "Birds." I might also add an upgraded form capable of attacking. Would using Fiacra for them be too much? I'll probably just stick to the normal graphics.)

A little bit of guidance in actually adding the graphics might be helpful too. I thought I had figured it out, but borrowing graphics from AoI seemed to cause some major CtDs. (I wanted to use the Disciples of the Hand for some Illian UUs, plus add frost giants, frostlings, and ice golems as Ice summons, and bring back Drifa through the Illian World Spell. Oh, I also wanted to add some polar bears for flavor and and use mamoth rider graphics for Illian and Doviello War Elephants.)

Edit: I just found out how to unpack Pak0.FPK and when I opened it I found that Parrot and Raven graphics are still in the game. They should be easy to add back, but I'd still like some of the old graphics, like Stygian Guards, which were removed.

That'd be interesting, I've always liked the raven and parrot graphics, and hope they'll be reinstituted in the core mod one day. As for the upgrade, how about giant eagles, dire ravens and err...giant parrots  well, they will be for the balseraphs and lanun.

Personally, I'd love to see the return of the mammoth rider for the Illian War Elephant, and it plain doesn't make sense to me that it (and the Amurite mammoth's rider) wasn't implemented in FFH2. The Doviello got their mammoth rider (with an elephant reskin) so why not the other two?

I noticed that too. ive wanted to add the Blizzard graphics to teh WH mod but they just dont work. at first i had huge CTDs and worldbuilder errors, and now the graphics are all pink, im too scared to change them again incase i stuff it up more

Minor request for next release which could be a bit of a pain:

Could all of the shared buttons either be renamed, or moved to a new folder structure in the PAK? There are quite a few unique button graphics which are in the PAK, and have the proper names. But it seems that the CIV4 PAK overrides the FfH2 PAK in this particular case. Some notable examples are: Actions:Rebase, Recon + Promotions: Accuracy & Barrage.

Yeah, I noticed that too when I was going through the Pak yesterday. I also noticed that there are quite a few things still in the pak that haven't shown up in the game in a while. I think they should either be all be used or removed (I prefer used), to keep file size down. I'd kinda like to see the extra loading artwork again, and would like the parrot and raven graphics (which are still there) used as civ specific graphics for hawks.

Awesome work seZ!

Nice.

They really study their dimensional magic, don't they? ;)

What is that blade supposed to be made of? I was thinking that giving them a bronze weapon might be more appropriate, since it has been associated with dark magic since at least ancient Roman times (probably because the most arcane rituals were preserved unchanged since before the iron age). It might be better to change the blade's color a little. Of course, I could just as easily imagine that it is s stone blade, which seems even more arcane to me.

Do remember that as much as we love looking at the details of seZ's art (and the amount of detail he adds is incredible) the color of the knife metal probably wouldn't even been noticeable in most games.

:O When's patch M coming out again? :p

I don't usually play the sheaim, better get some practise playing as them before they officially become my favourite civ.

I don't know if thois is the right place to ask but are the fangorn style ancient forests ever going to be added in? I really hate the ones we have atm.
