FfH2 Bug Thread

Just managed to bulb Orders from Heaven playing as Illian, with the whole tech tree complete and Future Tech queued up. Should be a simple debug, I think.

Even with the tech, I could not produce adepts, which is as it should be for an agnostic civ. --> nope, wrong! Started building Temples of Order and adepts (I had the Order holy city).

Got the Engineer from a dungeon.

Gift of Kylorin scenario gives me a CTD.
 
I'm not sure if this is a bug, or just weird.

I had my HN Shadow inside an AI civ's border that I did not have an open border agreement with. We were just at war and I was in there causing some mayhem.

I came upon a Dungeon and created some more mayhem with that - I just love popping bad guys with my invisible Shadow inside another civ's territory. :)

However, as luck would have it, I got a Great Prophet - at least I thought I did. Even though close to my border/territory, it was frozen and could not move. After I few turns, I just decided to use the Bulb and get the research towards a tech.

Should the Great Prophet be kicked out of that AI's territory and not frozen there?

Actually...all of the scenarios are causing CTD for me.

I was able to play Against the Wall. Now I can't play any of them.

I am running Vista.

I have patch e (downloading f now).

What other info might help to figure out my CTD problem?
 
Well i did all that I was instructed to do. And no chance of the mod working at all. I give up.

I'm not much for tech help, but I recommend deleting the Mod and rerunning it. I assume your other Mods work fine?

Maybe there are mixed versions, an old FfH with a new patch or something like that? Make sure you have the latest, version .4.

I installed patch f.

At first it looked like it might work. I loaded the 2nd scenario playing as the Bannor. The game advanced to the leader selection/namming screen. Thinking that it might be fixed I hit the back button. It did not take me back to the FfH (in game) scenario selection...it took me to the main menu civ 4 scenario selection screen where there are no FfH scenarios listed. I started another game and now all the scenarios are causing a CTD again.

Is there a cache that I might be able to clear and try again?
 
So for the record there are two separate bugs.

1...I have a CTD problem with the scenarios.

2...If you click the back button while setting up a scenario it will take to the the main menu scenario screen instead of the FfH ingame scenario selection screen.

Unrestricted Burning Blood
Moroi never die when he cast Burning Blood. (Text: 75% die)
And Moroi with Loyalty and Burning Blood effects never become barbarian.
So Morois with Loyalty can cast Burning Blood wiht no penalty. Very strong.


Unrestricted collateral damage (Pyre Zombie)
Pyre Zombie's explosion have no limit of collateral damage.


Effects to not living units
Courage, Gift Vampirism, Loyalty, Valor are only used to living targets.
But their effects remains when an effected unit upgrads to no-living unit.
ex1 Archmages cast Lichdom to transform Liches.
ex2 Warriors are drown to Drowns.
ex3 Vampires upgrade to Eidolons.
ex4 Vampire Lords cast Lichdom. (Rare case)


Immortal Great Peoples
With Blood of the Phoenix, great peoples can get Immortal promotion.
They can used twice, so only three Great Prophets is need to build Altar of the Luonnotar.


Life 3 is useless for Doviello
Luchiurp, Grigori and Doveillo can not resurrect Hero.
Barnaxus can be resurrected by Picese of Barnaxus, Grigori have many heroes, so this is not penalty for them.
But Doveillo have nothing.... and can not build the Shrine of Champion.
Lucian would be resurrected ?


4 Krakens and 4 Treants (Druid)
Disciple summon limit is not restricted by the number of casters, but the number of unit type of caster.
Zealot can upgrade to Druid without limit of level 6.
Whichever other Druid's religion, Druid of Octopus Overlords can cast Kraken as much as the number of Druid.
Druid of Leaves can do same.
So, one Druid can cast Kraken(or Treants) 4 times.


Unrestricted Kraken and Treant (Grigori Medic)
When a Grigori Medic obtains Religion of Octopus Overlords, he can cast Kraken as much as number of Girgori Medics.
So, if Grigori has 20 Grigori Medics, one Grigori Medic can cast 20 Krakens.
Grigori's Armada Krakens easily destroy enemy fleets. (Krakens can get experiences from combat !)
Same as above, one Grigori Medic of Leaves can cast Treant as much as number of Girgori Medics.


Hero Lich Legion
Hemah and Gibbon Goetia can get Death 3 easily.
After they had become Lich, they will not abandon when the civilization change religion.
Corlindale and Govannon can make 4 Hero Liches and Shrine of the Champion.
1. Get Death 3 and become Lich.
2. Get Life 3 and cast Resurrection.

2nd (or more) Lich can get Twincast. (summon Wraith, or other rank 3 spells)
If your are Amurites, 5th Govanon get rank1 spells.
Govanon with Death 1 can make Disciple Heroes to Lich to use rank 3 disciple spells and avoid other civilizations use them.
I think a unit with Hero promotion should be restricted to become Lich.


Unrestricted Peace
Corlindale cast Peace and die.
Corlindale (Lich) with life 3 can resurrect Corlindale.
Get cities, and cast Peace. Get cities, and cast Peace.
With Torlent, Elohim is warmonger to controll wars. Ethne the Black.


Unrestricted Impersonate Leader (Gibbon Goetia)
Gibbon with BlackMirror and Enchant 3 promotion can cast Impersonate Leader multiple times.
1. Gibbon cast Enchant Spellstaff.
2. Gibbon cast Mirror.
3. Mirror of Gibbon cast Spellstaff.
4. So Mirror of Gibbon can cast Impersonate Leader, and die.
5. But Gibbon (original) is still alive.
Svaltalfar with Gibbon and Alazkan can destroy many civilizations.

Golden age by Black Mirror
Mirror of great people can trigger golden age.

I think Black Mirror should be an ability of Alazkan, not item. Item can get by other civilizations.
And I think Impersonate Leader and Peace should be world spell or only be used once per game.
 
I can't seem to build pirate coves on the edge of the map.

This is actually QUITE iritating in the momus scenario. I fixed with WB. But. Still.


It was DEFINATELY more than 3 spaces away from any other cove. I can screeny if requested.
 
Archeron can't fly ?
ver0.40, Acheron the Red Dragon gets same movements as Dragon.
But does not have other abilities other Doragons have.
-Can Move through Impassable Terrain
-Doesen't Recieve Defensive Bonuses
-Ignore Terrain Movement Costs
Or this is not bug ?


Griffon and Giant Spider get tile defense like Beast units
Other animal units (include Baby Spider) cannot get tile defense.
Beast units (include Werewolves who have succeeded to become beast from animal) can get tile defense.

Shadow walk can't ignore tile defense
 
Elohim with Illian City can build world project of Illian.
So, Elohim get two heroes - Drifa the White Dragon and Auric Ascended.
Get Auric and Cast Peace.
 
I remember this happening in a prior version of FFH, thought it had been cleaned up, but happened to me just as recently as patch C.

Shadow attacked a city full of enemies in the Momus scenario. Whoever he picked must have had a withdrawal rate, and used it (i.e., fled). He fled with his whole stack, and the Shadow was sitting in the city, without it having been captured. Roll in one of my normal melee units to capture it.

I remember this used to happen in some fashion or other, i.e., one of my units managing to "push everyone out of town", but it had been noticed by the team and fixed. Sorry, I have no savegame available for this, but if I reproduce the bug, I'll attach one.

Shadow walk can't ignore tile defense

It`s ignoring only city defence.

I remember Golden Age with BM greate people was fixed in .3x, so it should be easy to repair it in .40.
 
Well, Rascot, these are more balance issiues, with most being features, not bugs.
 
*looks at changelog* Ack! Why is the Trojan Horse going bye-bye? I use that thing in almost every game I go CoE... how does it not justify it's existence? Or is Homer threatening to sue? :p
 
It's a Human vs AI only unit. The AI don't understand it and it obviously doesn't work in MP.
 
A LOT of things in FfH are human vs. AI only. If you cut them all, you won't have much game left... :) And I've gotten some use out of it in MP; there are times when another player doesn't want to open borders but isn't willing to declare war over one unit; the main thing I use the horse for is spreading CoE. I suppose this is the wrong thread for this, but I will still miss the thing...
 
I thought it was funny to see Perpentach moving the Trojan Horse around in The Momus :p

there's still the "bug" that when an equipment remains the civ don't get destroyed. in the Momus I had to search for a Spellstaff left by the Luchuirp in order to finish it
