What pushes you over the egde and makes you feel that you have the right to just kick somebody's @ss.

For me, i have set boundries for differnent people...
one kid i really do not like, i made a line in my head. if he hits me, pushes me, talks about my family i will have to knock him out. how about you?

depends on my mood but generally am not a fighting type of person, just because i could knock someone out doesnt mean im going too. if im ever angry enough to get in a fight i try and walk away but if its something about my family, gf or close friends... well its harder to walk away then.

Pretty much the same,I understand a little friendly teasing and joking, but enough is enough.Sometime you just have to break an arm to get your point across.

I have never been in a fight nor ever had the urge to start one. Except once with my younger brother when I was about 8 and he was 6.

I used to get into fights over nothing. Aww back in middle school and freshman year of high school, when everyone is too weak to really do serious damage.

Now I refrain from violence because:
#1 if I lose the fight, I would probably lose a couple of teeth too
#2 if I hit a kid every time I felt like it, I'd be expelled from my school and be in jail
#3 I want to be civilized
#4 I want to go to a competitive college

Doesn't always work. So I let out my anger sometimes on the poor freshman kids on my bus. I know, I'm ashamed to be bullying little kids... :(

EVERYONE LOOK AT MY POST COUNT!!!! 1337!!!!

Fighting is a good for when you want to demonstrate you're a beligerant idiot who needs to compensate for a low IQ or poor endowment.

Otherwise, it's useless.

Hmpf Pacifisim, disgusting. Fightining is a way to teach others you will not take ****.

I've never taken "****" from anyone. I just know how to do it without fighting.

I've never been in a fight or been provoked, but if someone stole my lucky charms, I would go into a violent rage.

The hammer wielding blue blob is wise! Unless it's in self-defense, there is absolutely no justification for fighting someone else. It's assault and should be punished accordingly.

Nothing pushes me over the edge. Nor is there anything I feel which "gives" me the right to "knock someone out" particulary if it's only bad mouthing. I have been professionally trained to be able to win in a fight with someone bigger, younger, and stronger than myself so I have always avoided placing myself in situations where I would have to hurt someone badly because of their bad decisions.

With regard to your third example, you are crossing a legal line. You have just committed a battery. Worst case, supposing your target is seriously injured or even dies. You can, since you are a minor expect to spend the next seven or eight years in prison. If they decided to try you as an adult, which they could very well do, you might spend the next fifteen years in prison. Couldn't happen? The prisons and juvenile halls are filled with inmates whose courtroom mantra was, "I didn't mean to hit him that hard" or "I hardly touched him."

Hrm. Upon closer inspection of your avatar, I see that it is a t-square, not a hammer!

I feel like fighting right now after watching the Suns-Lakers game.

I feel the need to fight when I get hit in the head, whether playfully or not.

Even when they push you into a puddle and ruin your clothes, then proceed to mock your entire familly?Verbal comebacks just dont cut it in that case IMO.

I'm more of a laid back person, but if someone pushes too hard, I'll push 'em back ;)

Were you trained in martial arts? What type of fighting style?

With regards to fighting, I haven't been in a fight for over a decade, but have come close a couple of times. I won't fight unless someone throws the first blow and starts it, in which case its in self defense. If that happens, all bets are off.

Just because I don't fight doesn't mean that their attempts to push me into puddles are successful.

As for mocking my family, what do I care? The only reason someone would mock my family is to wind me up, so why give them what they're looking for? If you want to fall for wind ups, you go ahead, nobody bothers with someone who can't be gotten.
