Filthy Americans!

TURN 0

nothing, except i move an archer from boston in the direction of thebes.

IBT- hatty attacks us in thebes with an axeman and loses.

TURN 1

well, it looks like we're in pretty good shape to knock out memhpis this turn, eh?

i weaken the defenses in memphis, suicide one cat, and...

swordsman loses to archer despite 80% odds.
swordsman defeats spearman.
swordsman defeats archer.
swordsman defeats archer; memphis is ours.

TURN 2

alphabet discovered, literature is next.

also,

i start construction on a hindu monastery.

IBT-

we are attacked by hatty's empty galley. we win.

TURN 4-

not much.

TURN 5-

our axeman attacks maurading horse archer. i previously upgraded a crossbowman with which i destroy the horse archer.

caesar offers silk for clams, both in excess. considering the happiness problems we're having, this is a no brainer.

TURN 6-

both new york and washington finish building whatever it is that they were building. its tempting to rush the great library with that great engineer we have, but since the great library is a relatively cheap wonder, i'll hold on to it. i do, however, build the great library in washington.

in new york, i build a missionary.

in boston, a market.

in memphis, a library.

TURN 7-

zzz

TURN 8-

boring.

TURN 9-

we connect to silk. i didnt realize that we were working on silk when i traded to caesar. somebody cancel that deal whenever its deadline expires.

in other news, boston builds its missionary. in other news, philadelphia builds its forge.

in other news, they are told to create a missionary and a granary, respectively.

TURN 10-

our force is now entirely healed, so i send it towards elephantine.

as it was previously fogged up, note its location:

save and summary coming in a minute.

basically, we're in good shape. i think we have the ability to win control of this continent with a fair amount of ease.

hatshepsut has a couple of techs we don't. she wouldnt trade them to me for peace, which i would have done, as our force took just under 10 turns to recuperate. after we storm elephantine, i would recommend at least looking to see what techs she has and if its worth waiting 10 turns for them.

another thing that we should do but which i forgot about is settle the former location of heliopolis.

UP: dantski
ON DECK: gemini1706

Before hitting end turn, I do some micromanaging of some cities.

About Philly being a production powerhouse Ice, nuh-uh, with no tiles producing more than 2 food, getting the city any larger than a 7 or 8 (by working all coast tiles) will require windmills or some crazy irrigating.

Also what did you say about Hatty not offering techs for peace niff? :crazyeye:

*much cursing takes place as it seems Civ refused to take either of my screenshots with Hatty*

Anyway, what would be above this, would be a screenshot showing Hatty offering us the following for peace...

Horseback Riding
Monarchy
30 gold
1 GPT

However, I am a bastard, thus Elephantine will take its punishment:hammer: first!

Turn 1

Heyyy, because I don't just copy the turnlog thingy over for my turns, sometimes it'll seem like nothings really happening, only thing worth noting here was spreading Hinduism to Atlanta (the horrible tile overlap city of doom!)

Turn 3

Chinook rejects Hinduism and feeds the missionary to the Lions. Our attacking force moves up onto the hill overlooking Elephantine.

Turn 4

After the religion spreading etc, we now break even at 80% research, likely I will up it to 90% soon.

After bombarding Elly down to 6% defense, I send Prof. Suicide Catapult in (not like we have a shortage of them). However being a total moron, he disobeys orders and beats the horse archer at only 22% odds.
Afterwards...
Sword slaps down arch
" " disembowels spear
" " smacks arch over the head with its own bow
" " plays poker with arch and kills him when he finds him cheating at poker.

Our victorious warriors plunder 164 gold and the catapult crew are sent on latrine duty.

During the first few turns, the Egyptian galley has annoyed me, it showed no intention of attacking our galleys while disrupting growth in NY and Chinook.

Feeling lucky after my catapult triumph, I of course attack with 35% odds of success, and umm lose  bummer.

Turn 5

JC adopts Vassalage, clearly he has Feudalism, he won't trade it at the moment though.

Our 2nd galley finishes off the Egyptian galley which seemed torn between fleeing and pillaging (and did neither).

Effectively the same deal as before is availible for peace with Hatty, this time I take it. (only difference was 10 gold more, but not the 1 GPT)

Turn 6

Civil Service is in! Since Elly will not be sustainable without grabbing back what the Egyptians had from the near Roman cities, Music is in order so we can culture bomb it ASAP with the free artiste.

Chinook runs out of Lions and is forced to allow Hinduism into the city.

Turn 7

Science upped to 90% at -7 GPT, next person might want to alter this to upgrade for some macemen, but I saw no imminent need to upgrade.

Turn 8

Just 3 turns after being at War, Hatty offers open borders, since shes zero military threat to us at the moment and it would be beneficial to see what she has in Alex (her last city) I accept.

Also complete Great Library in Washington

Turn 9

I decide on a civics swap to Bureaucracy and Organised Religion, its a little more expensive, but the capital bonus and the increased building production I think makes up for it.

Turn 10

I sneak a look at Alexandria

Should be a pushover

It looks like Egypt is about to fall... do we want to go after JC next? If so, then we need to get to an Axeman blitz. It looks like he has Iron hooked up and that means Preats are on the loose. In my experience you will sacrfice at least 2 Sword to a single Preat (dependent on tile bennies of course). Myself, I take great pleasure in wiping JC, Bismarck and Toky out.

i agree entirely; once hatshepsut is dispensed with our military should be sufficiently advanced and promoted to have a fairly easy time with caesar.

i think we have a fairly easy domination/conquest victory on our hands here... perfect in the american style.

Sorry guys, I cannot play any time soon.
I am very busy and looks like I took more games than I can handle.

Can someone continue after me?
Or maybe find a replacement player/alternative?

Sorry again for this. I really want to continue but I am afraid my schedule will not allow me.

Have fun all, and hope we win :)
