Not much details to go on yet, but apparently the US Attorney's office in Manhattan is investigating Fox News for using corporate assets in connection with sexual harassment allegations against their former CEO Roger Ailes.

Thought you all would get a kick out of this since Fox News isn't exactly popular around here. So discuss, or celebrate; whichever seems most appropriate to you. I'm actually kind of surprised there's not already a thread on this.

The Manhattan U.S. Attorney’s office is conducting a criminal investigation into Fox News, an attorney involved and sources familiar with the matter told ABC News.

Judd Burstein, an attorney representing former Fox News personality Andrea Tantaros, said during a hearing today that one of his clients had received a subpoena to testify before a federal grand jury investigating the use of corporate resources in connection with sexual harassment allegations against former Fox News CEO Roger Ailes and his former employer, Fox News parent company 21st Century Fox.

Burstein said the subpoena didn't involve Tantaros but a different, unspecified, client.

A spokeswoman for U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara declined to comment.

Fox News responded to the news, saying in a statement, “Neither Fox News nor 21st Century Fox has received a subpoena but we have been in communication with the U.S. Attorney’s office for months – we have and will continue to cooperate on all inquiries with interested authorities.”

What do you mean by 'go down'? Most likely outcome is they pay a settlement with no admission of wrongdoing, no?

Just a general expression indicating they are in some trouble. Also clickbait.

LOL...a clickbait headline on a thread about Fox News. Well done!

Unfortunately, as already said, a settlement with no admission of wrongdoing, and they blame everything on Rogor Ailes...maybe even rightfully so. This won't hurt their position as preferred source of comforting 'news' to the right wing faithful.

At worst Fox news will be fined, I doubt anyone will be fired or that the Fox viewers will even hear of anything let alone an apology
Provided that a large segment of America wants to hear and are willing to pay for such news, Fox will continue to exist.

Rarely visit FOX, so who cares?

Oh yeah. :)

Why is Fox so popular, other than they offer a clearly distinct viewpoint than the other outlets? They are nearly the only news organization regularly making money.

Pretty sure you're confusing cause and effect there big boy

He said "around here". Local anomaly.

People are sick of political correctness. When I get the kids to the US its home schooling all the way. That said the FOX bias is as evident as CNN or the others, the other way. Hard to find just news without someone inferring or downright reporting bias as news. I miss Walter Cronkite.

CNN has regularly made money and is expecting record profits this year.

Conspiracy theory time: What if this investigation is the result of Trump seeking retaliation against Fox News for being anti-Trump during the Republican primaries? Could this be the beginning of Trump's administration using the DOJ and US attorneys to harass and bully his opponents in the media into silence?

It's true Fox and Trump don't love each other. However, that seems far fetched.
