Another maffia player that got lured here with the promise of cookies. The game is due to start Monday, could you please waive the restrictions for this poor little raccoon?

Question: can we have a smileyface holding up a placard that says ‘unwelcome’?

I'm another player in the same Mafia game. I promise not to abuse the PM system.

If a thread discussion is being obviously derailed, what is the best course of action? Should I report one of the offending posts? Should I PM a moderator? Or should I just wait until a moderator sees the thread?

Report a post and explain that you think the thread discussion is being derailed. Then be patient; it may require a bit of discussion before they decide what, if anything, to do about the situation.

Concur, unless things have changed in the past year.

Relying on Option 3 is spotty at best. Moderators can't and shouldn't read every post in every thread so relying on them to come across it themselves naturally is a bad idea. I burnt out within a handful of months because that is exactly what I did, reading every post in every thread. Not tenable for the long term.

I don't even try to read half of everything in OT - I just expect people to know how the Report function works and exercise the judgement necessary to use it.

Damn, I read more than half :scared:

I guess that's why your post count is 33% higher in 66% the years. ;D

Well, 40% higher in approx 55% of the time, but I think it's actually due to posting a whole bunch for a few years. :)

Is there a set protocol on changing usernames? Is changing usernames seamless that I don’t need to do anything on my end apart from updating Google Passwords?

Contact an Admin to request a name change. Once that's done, it's as easy as you describe.
