Yeah, that whole wall, from under the window above to the ground, could have been shifted across in photoshop. At first glance, it looks like the wall on the left sits neatly under the overhang of the window. But then, further away from the overhang, the rest of the wall is flush in line vertically. Could have been shopped. I'm still 50/50 on whether it was shopped or just a joke.
EDIT: I'm less convinced by what I just said now than I was when I wrote it. I'm now 80/20 in favour of a deliberate joke.
EDIT2: Nah, not a shop. Why would you go to all that trouble? There are many easier ways of shopping this, and why would you even bother - it's not even that funny. 98% chance it's a deliberate joke.
EDIT3: But then if it was a joke, again, why go to all that trouble? You could make the joke funnier by chopping the G off on the other side. 50/50 it's a cock-up at some point. Maybe PiMan's right - the wall to the left was constructed after the main building was, and for some reason it needed to lop the letter off.
EDIT4: But then why wouldn't you just move the letters over? I'm assuming this is the entrance to the architecture department of a university, rather than a standalone architecture building. First of all the name is too vague to be its own institution, and secondly you'd think they'd have enough pride to move the letters across, being as this is literally the first thing you'd see as you enter the building. You want to make a good first impression. Also, it's not "The" college of architecture and planning - it's just "college of architecture and planning". So it's written more like a department name than the name of the institution.
EDIT5: Okay, maybe the photo was taken when it was still under construction / redevelopment, and the signage hadn't been corrected yet.
