Padma, Central time is now -5 GMT, because of Daylight Savings Time (and I know they observe it in Nebraska). That should read 1300-2100 GMT.

These forums are on BST (British Summer Time), so Padma was correct if he is using the incorrect definition of GMT that these forums use. (Just read below, it says it's GMT when it's really BST).

After over 20 years in the service, I really do understand how GMT works. (It's called ZULU time in the US military.) But I have fallen into the bad habit of referring to British Time as GMT, even though BST is an hour off of true GMT.

Either add me to your buddy list, or just look down near the bottom of the main forum index page, where it lists all users currently on. Moderators are listed in bold face, so it's pretty easy to pick us out. (Assuming we're not in "stealth mode". )

To see if a certain user is online or not, you could also look at one of his/her posts. I'm pretty sure that in all styles except for Mac OS X, if the little check-mark thing in the upper-lefthand corner of his/her posts is yellow, the person is online. If it's red, the person is offline. In the Mac style, in the upper-righthand corner, if the e is orange, the person is online; if it is blue, the person is offline.

MacOS shows it, too. I usedtacould see it when I had that style. I think it's a blue "e" instead of a yellow one. Or vice versa.

Sorry Padma...I should have realized that. I didn't realize the forum was going off of the British time and not off of true GMT. Having been on the internet for 4 years, I've had to learn time zone conversions for most of the world for all the people that I've met and such. Most are second-nature to me now.
