GameNES: Insert Credit

My new goal is something I enjoy and something to limit myself while giving you eye candy. A short magazine, 3-4 pages depending on my mood maybe more. With previews and maybe if your stories are good a full page review. This would include a cover in which I could showcase somethings. This of course gives me an excuse to ask for graphical references. I can editing things from other games if you have a look down so just ask. Or in the case of Daftpanzer, if you want to draw your own ad's or other things. Go ahead.

And now a glimpse of the cover. Should I continue with this or drop this style before I make more?

Nice!

Story to come, waiting on a certain reply before resuming. Orders too.

The cover looks too empty.

EDIT: specifically the area between the words "Insert Credit" and the hand + the words "Our look at Zombie".

Perhaps you should add a "Company of the Month/Year" type thing?

DO NOT RIP OFF SPORE! TREASON! BLASPHEMY!

Seriously, don't try to take credit for the Best Game Ever.

I'm very sorry,
did not want to copy an other game
I will change it to make an other turn in the gameplay/storie.
The (almost) exact copie wasn't on purpose, but i looked it up and i cannot denie the resemblance.

I'll try to get a lengthy preview Question and Answer to your Inbox soon, Luckymoose, so you can use it in the magazine if need.

For this update I need some things.

1.) LightFang I need you for a Q&A.
2.) If anyone wants to write a company released preview paragraph you can.
3.) Ideas on what your games looks like, something I can compare them to.
4.) Nuke Kid: I need a more detailed list of things in your game. Including a full first few levels or so. Maybe some characters and info on the look of everything.

Reflection

Orebro, Sweden

Sven Landerson relaxed in the warm foamy waters of his rather large and luxurious bath. A glass of whiskey and a bar of rich dark chocolate were within reach. Classical music played. Scented candles provided gentle flickering illumination.

Life wasn't so bad. Profits were greater than expenses. Almost all of the profits were pumped back into the company, but enough found its way to Sven for him to indulge himself in some of life's little luxuries.

All that was missing from this scene was some female company, of which he enjoyed far too little these days. His thoughts dwelled on his ex-wife. Did he really push her away by being so obsessed with work? Or were they really just incompatible for each other? He would probably never know. He just knew he hadn't felt connected to anything or anyone since the day she left. All he had left now was his career and aspirations.

Of course, Oda had always doubted him, like so many others. Even six years ago, Digi Forge still didn't exist. Back then, Sven was struggling to salvage his old electronics company after the sudden loss of contracts with Volvo and Saab, and the equally sudden suicide of his former boss.

Those had been the toughest years of his career. Too tough for his marriage to endure. But he persevered at work. The old company survived, in a manner of speaking, and was sold on for a considerable sum. Sven took away enough funding, employees and expertise to start his own little company, Digi Forge. It was time for Sven to move away from the brain-numbing technicalities of component manufacture, time to follow his dream of building devices for music, movies, games and entertainment...

Four years ago, they were making in-seat entertainment consoles for airliners. Three years ago, they were doubling their profits and workforce every six months. Two years ago, they began merging with other small manufacturers, and began searching the world for the talents behind some of the famous consoles of the mid-late 90's.

One year ago, the console that would become known as Takk was almost ready to be born. They told him he was stepping into a black hole, that games were dead end. But he persevered. He knew there was a mass market out there, waiting to be provided for. And now here he was, the boss of one of the most successful console manufacturers in the world. One of the 'big three'.

Of course, success these days was defined by not crashing and burning spectacularly. That wasn't enough for Sven. He wouldn't be able to let go of this until he had guided Digi Forge to true global success.

He was still only 35. Plenty of years left ahead of him...

Gamespot news: Digi Forge concept vids leaked on U-Tube!

Spoiler :
Video files allegedly created at Digi Forge HQ in Sweden were 'leaked' onto U-Tube this morning by a user calling himself 'CATS2101'. The videos were only up for two hours before being mysteriously removed. No copies have yet appeared, though we do have a few still-screens to go on.

The videos, consisting of screen-captured footage with both Swedish and English speaking voices in the background, made up 32 minutes in total, and showed glimpses of the upcoming 'Vision of Gaia' RPG as well as other concepts that apparently haven't made it to the design stage.

The first sequence was of the already-released Blob Wars, showing a flying winged blob being controlled by the 'player', as it battled a gigantic spider-form blob, with the aid of various other blobs and allied creatures. Nothing new could be seen in the action. But the lower part of the screen was taken up by various technical displays. Apparently, the game was running on Digi Forge's diagnostic machines, with exact resource and processor usage being tracked in real time. Whenever special weapons and explosions filled the screen, a greater use of system resources was indicated. The same was repeated as Jet Stream was played, as a super-powered-up player ship attacked the giant robo-insectoid boss from the end of the bio-dome stage.

"The blob team and Destiny Games team did a great job with the time they had available", one of the mysterious programmers was heard to say in english, "but we know we can squeeze more performance out of it". The next video then showed various battle scenes and animations apparently from Vision of Gaia. In one particularly impressive sequence, a large anime-style robot was seen to transform into a flying dragon form, before more fighting commenced. A voice was then heard to say "We want to avoid pre-rendered wherever possible, because variability is key to this game. We want the player's custom character right there in the frame. The graphics will lack resolution and anti-aliasing, but we feel we can still get something smooth and very stylish, while much of the memory and processor time is taken up by all the complex variables of the game world. This is the most detailed world any of us have ever worked on". Apparently, the technical readout showed almost full use of all resources, while the action still appeared to display smoothly.

The next video began with a brief look at the character creation screen. It seems the players have a choice of various space-colonist character types - 'engineers', 'explorers', 'biologists', and 'security' were shown. Each type had a basic set of clothing and equipment, but the legs seemed to be separately customisable from the arms and torso. Face, hair, and skin tone could be chosen for all types. One female 'security' character was created. She was mostly clothed in tight-fighting black material, but with arms and lower legs covered by something like power-armour, or parts of a space suit. She carried what looked like a large gun, baton and makeshift sword on her back, and had a mix of black and gold hair. The voices were heard to argue about whether such 'hot' looking female characters were too cliché. Judging by the forum reaction, most (male) fans are certainly hoping such characters aren't cut from the game.

The remaining clips showed various scenes from the Vision of Gaia game, as well as other concept scenes that may come from other games entirely, such as Ferret Wars by Hayden Games. The exact details are still being hotly debated on fan forums.

According to fans who were able to view the video, some of the Swedish talk in the background hinted at the existence of a hand-held console project, which has yet to be officially announced by Digi Forge.

Awesome Daft.

I am beginning to do some more of the magazine now. Mainly layouts and graphics placement. If anyone wants to do an ad you may. I will setup a couple ad zones of a limited size. Of course the basic ones will be small but for people who paid for advertising. They can claim bigger spots. Even full pages...maybe.

so 5000 would get me?

I like the idea, and the cover page is quite cool.

OK, will do.
