Yes, that's the part that amuses me. My theory is Robbiecon is the new godfather of the Sharks, and he will try to kill me tonight. Or one of my own henchmen will overthrow me and become the new Godfather (waves hello to BSmith)
Which is cool, because if Robbie (or anyone else) wins this game after my magnificent bastard speech, I deserve what's coming to me. It was still very satisfying to say, because honestly, a townie win in this game would have been so lame after the Dom3000 reveal and the Sprig inactivity, and an inactive serial killer.
Seriously, I am glad I got recruited, so you guys had SOMETHING to play against. I don't care who wins at this point, this game got the amusing and contentious ending it deserved. I'm happy.
Unknown to all, Ms Nelson becomes Catwoman at night. Using her plastic ties she binds Mayor Askthepizzaguy's arms and legs together, and tosses him into a chair. The final touch is to place duct tape over his mouth, although admittedly with her latex costume, he doesn't really mind. Next out comes a whip, and excitement flashes across his eyes.
Spoiler:
Then she tosses the whip in a corner, approaches the mayor, and whips out a blade, cutting his head clean off. "Looks like he lost his head for me", she chuckles.
Because of the way the game mechanics worked, I felt it was possible you could have been threatened or influenced or pressured in some way to reveal me.
I didn't want to take that chance. I trust YOU, Snerk, but I don't trust the game mechanics. I played extra cautious.
This is the story of how the Mayor came to control the town of New Townsville. Things were looking quite bright when the Captain of the Police force was going to arrest the Mayor of the town for crimes that he ha d committed. Since he was the only cop in town he went straight to the Mayor's office with the warrant. But before he was able to get into the door he was stopped by the mayor's aide and placed in handcuffs by Mr Campbell and placed on a chair, telling him that the Mayor was waiting for him and would come down to meet him and discuss a few things. The Captain was annoyed at what happened, since he thought he was in charge of the town, but he got fooled by the Mayor and actually trusted him, but now he knew the game was over.
The Mayor walked up to him and said, "I have been expecting you for a long time. That attack was planned on you so that you would know it was me and that you would come and arrest me, but I had this waiting for you, so I will give you a few options and if you don't do one of them, then you will die right here and now. Understood?" The Captain just nodded and awaited the options that left for him. "I have two options for you if you take up the offer, you can either work for me, which I highly doubt, or you could leave this town and never return here. Which one are you going to take?" The Captain just sat there and he spit in the face and then the Mayor punched him in the face and drew some blood from the Captain's nose. "After some consideration, I will leave this town", the Captain spoke as he wiped off the blood from his chin. "Take him to the car and we will make sure he will never return, Chief of Police", spoke the mayor in an harsh tone. Mr Campbell was honoured now to be Chief of Police.
From what I have been told, the ride was very uncomfortable for the Captain and he was finally driven 200 miles from town and given some money to live and find some place to go and live his life. Now the town was firmly under the control the Mayor and he was totally pleased with the result of it. Since he was under control of the town he was able to release a few people who have been arrested under the former regime. He knew he had release all the former members of the gang that he was once a part of, even if he was a recruit, but he knew he could not have done this without help of Mr Gilmore, so he was the first one to be released from Prison. The two held a warm embrace and Mr Gilmore was happy to be out of the hell hole. He then asked if he wanted other people to be released from prison and he wanted all those who were formerly part of his gang.
So out the prison went Officer Rooney so he could take up his new position of Detective under Chief of Police Campbell. He was excited to be out of prison after all the abuse he had under the other inmates while in jail. Also came out Miss Tessmacher, who was relieved to be out of the women's prison. Next out was Mr Anderson. But before he was able to make it out of prison he was shot dead by Chief of Police Campbell under the advice of Mr Gilmore, for not doing what was expected of him and to keep him mouth shut. The Mayor and his cronies now had total control over the affairs of the town.
Spoiler:
Winners: Askthepizzaguy2, Snerk, BSmith1068, Khazaar, Nictel, Robbiecon, Camikaze, choxorn, and Duke Blackstone.
Not a winner or a loser, Taillesskangaru and CivGeneral.
Losers: Dominations3000, Askthepizzaguy1, dcmort93, dcmort93 2, Jarrema, Link, Zack, NarutoAvatarDBZ, ZeletDude, bestrfcplayer, Darth Caesar, DaveShack, Daveshack 2, SS-18 ICBM, Sprig, Joecoolyo, Snaproll, Takhisis, civplayah, kennegit, Autolycus, Romanichine, Sonereal and Skwink Caesar.
My biggest mistake, I think, is not lynching Autolycus or Takhisis or even trusting ATPG, but underutilising my "scan"/tailing ability because I either didn't get the time to send in the orders or I just plain forgot.
The Great Reveal didn't help us as much as it seems, because our identities were exposed as well. To complicate matters, we were really the only "true" innocents in the game. The other non-mafia were either neutrals or could be recruited, something which I think we didn't really thought about.
Welcome back to the James Goodall hour. Mister Goodall is sleeping with the fishes. And that's why he was released from his contract. We don't approve of the "love" between man and fish at this radio station. It's time for a return to traditional family values.... Mafia family values.
I would like to wish my secretary luck in her new career, as it's for certain she is well on her way to super stardom. I'd like to congratulate the new Chief of Police, who will be enforcing the 'law' around here from now on. There will be no more killings, not unless you cross da boss. I'd like to welcome back from their wrongful imprisonment the members of my wonderful family, and take them all out for a hot slice of pizza.
The city seems a bit deserted, so I'm informing you all as your Mayor that I will be seizing all unclaimed property in the city and selling it off to raise funds for ummmm.... let's call it budget balancing purposes. That will get some fresh blood in town, and I predict we will turn this city around before the next election, which will be never. Using my authority as mayor, given the crisis we've just been through, I'm suspending democracy for the foreseeable future. Besides, recent polls indicate the Mayor is doing a heck of a job, with an 80% approval rating, and word is that the remaining 20% just left town. Hmmm... I guess that makes it 100 percent. I'm the most popular mayor in America!
And now, for my listening audience, I would like you to stay tuned for an hour of commercial-free music, courtesy of The Mayor and the fine folks at Viper broadcasting.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a drum of gasoline and a pile of bodies what need burning, and there are some tasks you prefer to do yourself.
To be honest I think the recruitment ability was way too over powered in this game. Each mafia started with 4/5 people so that's already 8/10 mafia at the beginning of the game. Combine it with the inability to kill most godfather's without forcing a lynch and you have a seriously tough game, regardless of people ratting out their whole team

Two large mafia teams with a goal to destroy each other, combined with a huge town, makes for a balanced game, as you saw.... almost every round, a scumbag was lynched. Town had investigatory, vigilante, and force-lynch powers, a pro-town network of masons who knew each other were innocent, and a mole inside one of the gangs that exposed them all.
Without recruitment, you would have had this game over about a month ago with most of the starting town still alive. And it wouldn't have been a very fun game at that point.
Well basically everyone was neutral beside those who were in the mafia groups or those in the top three of the authority or Duke, everyone else was free to choose which side they were on, but most people did not realise that.
I will say the biggest mistake of the town was electing ATPG as mayor, since he stated early in the thread that one of his goals was to remove the mayor from office, but no one caught onto that, until it was too late. I do remember early on when dcmort took over from Mad man I did wonder why he posted his Role PM in the Police QT after he was specifically told by Duke that there was a mole in the ranks, and that started a whole lot of craziness.
