but really from what ive heard gatorade, but only if you are actually doing a lot of exercise (i heard somewhere is is bad for you if your just drinking it)
Is this a matter of opinion, or are you asking for a scientific explanation? If it's the first, then I prefer either; if it's the latter, then look on the Nutrition Facts.
Gatorade helped the Kansas City Chiefs beat the Minnesota Vikings in Superbowl IV. Powerade has no such claim it can make, so my vote goes with Gatorade.

As has been said above, I'd wager water probably accomplishes the same for the exercise level most people take part in -- Gatorade and Powerade is all in the advertising.
