What is the file extension of the file you try to upload?

The current allowed extensions are: jpg jpeg jpg2 gif png

If your file extension is something like JPG, try changing it to lower case to see if it helps.

Okay thanks, my pictures were in .bmp form. I have converted them to .jpg and added them. Thanks! :goodjob:

np. :) Never use BMP on the web. Its file size is much bigger than GIF and JPG formats.
---

I have posted a news posts about the file database on the main site news. More people should use it now.

very nice! we have been needing this. now i just have to start uploading files.

suggestion (i dont know if it has been said already):
to make the subcategories into a more clean list, it is hard on my eyes to search through the big block of links :goodjob:

It seems that the rating system does not want to co-operate with me.

-when I rate A+, it gives rating A+
-when I rate A, it gives rating A-
-when I rate B+, it gives rating B-

So, it seems that it doesn't somehow register the rates A, B and so on (it completely disregards those, and handles only the ones with +´s and -´s)

I can't erase my comment. Look, even though i clicked Delete several times it's still there.

What happens with downloads which include patches? Of course I can add the links to the description, but wouldn't it better if we were able to upload/link to multiple files?

Another thing: Is the easy upload temporary off due to much activity? I can't use easy upload for anything, and I can't find my old upload9/10 files. You're not removing this feature?

True, the list on the main page is hard to use. However, if you click the main category ("Civilization IV Downloads", the subcats are much easier to use there:

I noticed that too... I should have a fix soon.

EDIT: This should be fixed now. :)

Don't know if I deleted or you did, but the comment is gone.

Easy Upload works fine here... do you still have trouble accessing it? The current easy upload will remain until a better system is installed.

I agree allowing multiple files would be nice. For now you can include the link in the description...

The problem persists for more than 12 hours. When I select "upload file" my browser can't find anything, and I can't download/open any file from uploads (which also stops me from adding my files in the database). I don't think I faced this before, could it be a local problem? Remember, I'm based in Southern Europe.

Question!

Is it possible to add a sort function for the user uploaded files?

Such as sort by name, sort by downloads, sort by date uploaded, etc?

Because someone like Aaglo would basically make the function relitivly tedious to search through by hand.

Seems to me like it would be easier to first go to the appropriate category in the downloads (i.e. Ancient Units, Fantasy Units, etc.) and then look for Aaglo's unit there.

Are you able to access this page? Also try ping and traceroute the civfanatics.net domain and PM me the results. You can do that in command prompt with these commands (one at a time):

ping civfanatics.net
tracert civfanatics.net

If you used to get the "Slow Down! You are trying to download files too quickly" message all the time, try again. The problem should be fixed now. Sorry about tat.

I'd rather not... it would just make me miserable to think about it... :D

[EDIT]: I noticed, that you (TF) added one of my units. Thank you :) - although I'll try to manage them all by myself, but I'll ask for help should I need it :)

I notice that many images aren't showing right now - I mean in normal posts rather than the database, it's just the little red X. It seems to be only some images, not all of them. I don't know if this is just a temporary glitch or has something to do with the new database, but it means I can't put my units in the database yet.

However, I'm pleased to see that I'm still the only person to have uploaded any Civ III scenarios. I've cornered the market!

Last night I was posting the new Civ3 files announcement and thought I should add those files announced to the File DB first. :) BTW, for a while there was an "aaglo" unit. It was your ghoul unit and you switched the author and file title. :D

The images are hosted on the .net server? A few posters mentioned they have trouble accessing the .net too. This sounds like a DNS issue... I have emailed Telefragged to see if they made any change to the DNS in the past few days.

EDIT: Telefragged said they haven't made any change to DNS in the last few days.

ghoul had posted an aaglo unit...? That must have been a freudian slip. Sor someone is cracking the system...

Also, you seem to be quoting some member called quote?
Who's he/she ;)
