Use of soap/toothbrushes?

I shall try my cultural, economic or demographic question.

hard to find a pattern on this map since the highs are quite spread out. I've been trying to focus more on the dearth areas. Libya and South Sudan kind of stand out in that regard.

is this political or military related?

That was my starting point. What do they both not have? Even in comparison with other African nations.

Yes

Is this per capita? (India being so low).

It's not per capita

Basing it only off the fact that Ukraine is low compared to the rest of Europe, percentage of non-enlisted men in the national army?

Does make me wonder about South Korea and other countries with mandatory military service though.

Maybe it could have something to do with being war-torn? Yemen, Libya, South Sudan, Syria and Ukraine are noticeably light compared to their neighbours. But then, Afghanistan is dark blue

Is it climate related, perhaps "how much did last year break the temperature records by"?

This is so close, being war-torn is a huge factor in what this is.

(Sorry I haven't been on, my city was literally hit by a storm and we lost power)

Is it violent mortality in recent years?

Keep in mind the more "war torn" countries are lesser on the scale, not greater.
