Percentage of red meat in diet.

Mmm... meat.

OK. I can accept that. But then why is the UK coloured green and Japan not coloured at all?

Do you have some special meaning for the phrase "political division"?

edit: Ok it's a ranking. Hmm. I'm still pondering this.

This map is the first level of subnational entities. US States, Canadian provinces, Japanese Prefectures, UK countries.

England (not the UK) is coloured green because it has a population of 53 million while the Tokyo Prefecture, the most populous, has a population of 13 million (and is considerably smaller).

^ OK. Thanks. That's a help.

Calorie consumption per capita.

^ You're just making stuff up now for comic effect.

Tonnes of refined sugar consumption per capita per year.

Hmm... Given that USA#1, and also Greece is so prominent in the map too, is this about plastic surgeries?

repost of the map:

Highest amount of grease/fatty foods used for cooking/eating

Maybe it is an outdated map though (?)

From the Huffpost:

Huff on plastic surgery top countries said:
Furthermore, the Economist noted that the study's findings may be somewhat unexpected when taking into account total population. While the U.S. ranked first in total number of cosmetic procedures performed, for example, the country actually ranked fourth in procedures per capita, behind South Korea, Greece, and Italy.

So yeah, Greece #2 for the pursuit of having a perfect body... :( :)

That's saddening indeed. Very often the surgery is only an improvement in the mind of those people. Models of perfection are non-existent and very subjective. It's also possible for one person to be beautiful in more than one way. People who think there a beauty ideal are delusional I think.

However, I'm glad plastic surgery exists. It has improved the lives of many burn victims, for instance.

The French are notorious for eating large quantities of bread every day. Well, they buy quantities of it, fresh, every day at any rate.

Other people don't? I eat 10 slices a day.
