Has anyone noticed how many standard units are based on American ones?

Just about every unit after the middle ages is American.

the ironclad is clearly the USS monitor
the rifle man is obviously a US Civil War era soldier
the bomber is an American B-17
the battleship is an American Iowa Class
the tank looks a US sherman (not really sure)
the modern armor is an American M1 Abram
the mech infantry is a American M2 bradley
the helicopter is an American chinook
the radar artillery is an American MRLS I think.

and the stealths are given

and there are probably several others I hav't reconized

What's wrong with this? The programmers who wrote Civ3 are the God of the Civ3 universe; it is theirs to make in whatever image they like.

Abe is the ugliest leaderhead in the game (except for hannible in the modernera! Yuck!) I don't even like conversing with America because of it.

@basketcase. In a way it does suck since all of those would make a sweet American UU but they sold them out!

The main reason I do not like to play the American civ is because the UU is in the late Modern Age. By then you usually know that you've won, or are close.

This may be a bit off Civ3, but in Civ1, all the individual civs had their own tune. Ghandi's would split your eardrum.
