Have you ever died in your dream?

Numerous times. I've even had dreams where I saw my own grave that was surrounded by flowers. I've had dreams where I was a ghost watching my family morn my death. Dream deaths never scare me, though. It think of them as having the meaning of 'what if' rather than what will be.

I saw a somewhat similar motif. I was in a sanitarium, as a german WW2 officer (i am pretty sure this alluded to my feelings about my father, who has a jewish name) surrounded by jewish elderly people. At one point they decided to turn the tables on me, and punish me for the Reich. My death was caused by falling with a vast speed onto a brick wall, where my head was utterly destroyed.
However, just after i died, i felt nothing, but could still see around me, the jewish people celebrating or discussing the event of my death, only i started seeing them from above. What was happening is that i had died, became a wandering soul, rising above the world slowly but steadily.

Surely there are manyinterpretations to the dream, which i do not really see as a premonition of what happens when one died.

I did die more than once in a dream, but only one time was a bit remarkable:
I died in the beginning of the dream and when I was dead my soul went to some Hades like underworld to liberate some other souls from there. In the end I failed (can't remember what happened in between) and only my own soul was able to escape back to the surface (world of the living) but now without a body to return to.
The most common nightmare I had when I was a kid was running around between several train rails while knowing there were trains coming and I had to escape somehow. I always woke up right before I got hit by a train. This might be my version of the falling to death dreams.
As I grew older my dreams became more seldom but at the same level more weird. (steam machines in toilets are just one example)
Today I am often aware of dreaming which helps to relax in emotionally stressing situations.

I will never forget a dream I had back in Germany. It was one of my first lucid dreams.. I was walking around the city in Poland where I lived and knew that I was dreaming. Eventually I got bored of exploring the town and screwing around and I wanted to wake up. But I couldn't!

So I lied down in the middle of the street and let a car run over me. As soon as it did I woke up.

Few times. The worst one was when in the dream my legs was crushed by elevator (long story) and i laid on ground, helpless, and i was slowly loosing sense. First I didn't feel legs, then lower part of my body and this wave of nothingness moved up towards my body and head. I remember bitterness of the "Why now?" variant.

Yeah, I got shot through the heart and woke up on the floor with a rock under my chest :hmm:

I sometimes die in my dreams. Many of them are where I am killed by school bullies, and I still have those. One strange one is where I was falling through a chair and crushed into nothingness.

A couple ones I had where I was chased by a death like figure. I have many dreams that could be apocalyptic but I never die in those, except for one where the cause was a nuclear explosion.

Once the car I was in drove off a very high cliff, but the second we went off of it I woke up...

Yes. I've crashed bikes, gotten shot, fell off buildings, drove a car off a cliff, and overdosed on pain killers.

I've had near-death dreams, but the ones where I actually died (or as close as makes no difference) always involve drowning. I expect that's because I really did nearly drown a couple of times during my childhood.

As for being killed... I was in front of a firing squad (no idea why, but it may have involved witchcraft). We were outdoors in a field, and there were spectators around. The leader of the firing squad said, "Ready... Aim..." ...

And then he pulled out a fiddle, started to play a reel, the other members of the firing squad also started playing fiddles, and the spectators started dancing. The leader beckoned, "Come on, join in!"

So my execution turned into a square dance... :crazyeye:

Plenty of times. Maybe one out of every like 6 dreams or so I'm either already dead or I die during the course of it.

I had a dream a few months ago, and the setting was summer of this year. The apocalypse started early, and I remember being in a big city when it started. People started falling from the sky, and from skyscrapers. Government officials began helping people into shelters the government had built in preparation for the apocalypse. Once I enter what looks like a garage in the side of a skyscraper, I see it is not a shelter -- it is a lava pit where people are deliberately pushed into to their deaths. Eventually I get pushed in to.

Instead of waking up, I'm in some sort of afterlife. I don't remember what happens, but the dream continues, with me being re-incarnated, only to be kicked out of an in-dream marriage for cheating on the wife. Then the dream turns into a bizarre adventure before I finally wake up.

Other than that, I usually wake up when I die, including just this morning, where I was attacked by a vicious dog in my dream. The dog simply jumped on me to begin the attack, and I woke up.

God, I wish my dreams were as surreal as this.

My dreams are always way to realistic, and are always throwing me off during the day since I can never remember what I actually did and what simply happened during my dream.
