Horrible names for children! (Or even adults, for that matter)

Sometimes there is nothing wrong with the first name - but the full name.

I seen parents name their kids:

Bobby Brown.
Patrick Swayze.

And David David David.

I met a guy called "Angel" in the US. That one raised a few eyebrows.

my parents gave us (me and my siblings) terrible names
My name is Dakota (a guy's name which morphed into a girl's name)
my sister's name is Maya
my brother's name is Skyler

Poo-head, but with a different euphemism for feces. Pronounced "Shuh-teed"

"Abdullah" and names with similar meanings bother me for some reason.

I think the name Hubert is terrible.

Other terrible names include

Eugenia,
Curtice,
Abraham,
Constance
and Herbert.

Sadie
Tyrone
Crystal
Kristal
Krystal
Cristal
Stella
Jasmine
Jazmin
Sierra
Newt

My mom is a nurse in the newborn and infant intensive care unit at Ohio State University hospital...Some of the dumbest names of the past thirty years that came out of there:

Pencil Man
Master and Mister (Twins)
Shi-Tara
Oats
Seven

Was just watching a commercial where, apparently, some horrible parents named their kid, a boy, 'Skylar'. Is it just me or is this the worst fudgin' name ever? Especially for a boy? Some of the other names that I hate and think are...

Gay
Brad
Kyle
Ryan (sorry to one particular CFC OT poster whom I know is named this, but is cool as hell)
Caleb

And I hate stupid hippy names like Star, River, or...you know Skylar wreaks of hippiness.

What does OT have to say about this? What are some names that you hate...other than John?
What's wrong with "Kyle" and "Ryan"?

Dick is only a shortening of Richard (somehow).

Skylar is a bad name, but I wouldn't hesitate to name my kid Sylar :D.

Some more bad names:
Blanket
Kajolica
Double or triple names like Stacy Marie Heidi Smith for American kids.
Heidi
Yeoman

There are more, but that is all that I could think of.
"Skylar" is a modern variant of "Schuyler" - and it's a dumb name no matter how it's spelled. I remember many years ago, there was a popular character on my grandmother's soap (Edge of Night) named Sky Whitney. He was played by a gorgeous, gorgeous actor, and at some point on the show, he married an equally-gorgeous female character named Raven. Raven and Sky Whitney went on to become the show's main 'supercouple.' I don't recall any of the other characters commenting how oddly their names went together...

What's wrong with "Heidi"? That's the name of an iconic character in children's literature.

Bristol
Piper
Track
Willow
Trig
*shudder* I still have to wonder what she was thinking...

There is a plague of 'bogan' names in Australia. 'Bogan' names include:
  • Mercedes
  • Harmony
  • Madison
  • Schapelle
  • Dakota
  • Tegan
  • Gavin
  • Tyson
  • Dwayne
  • Brandon
  • Warren
All of these names are synonymous with low socio-economic status and ugg boots.
Never heard of this reason given for not liking such names. I like the name "Tegan" - that was the name of a popular Doctor Who companion during the Baker/Davison years. Come to think of it, the character of Tegan Jovanka was an Australian air-hostess. :mischief:

I am open to the possibility that she has nothing to think with except corn flakes... :p
