Easily. And 13% is not huge. Phrasing and polling methods can cause much larger deviations than that routinely.
Margin of error is not a representation of how far the poll might be off, it's merely a statistical indicator determined by nr of people polled vs the entire group.
Based on the reaction of the authoritarian far-right in this forum alone, it is quite substantial. They think the gun culture in this country is far greater than it apparently is, and it is the primary basis for them thinking that Obama's quite rational approaches to the problem will be defeated.
It has been a primary point of contention in many of these threads. When I pointed out that individual gun ownership was only 34% based on the Gallup poll, there was a huge backlash. Now, it appears to even be far lower.
so you missreading the link long after the poll was done, actually means the Poll is of questional value and is liberal bias...
or am I misreading something here....
It just means that the Gallup poll and this one have far closer sample sizes than I thought, even though this poll is far more extensive by asking so many questions. And it is frequently done in person instead of over the telephone.
