So does my avvie reflect me well? I mean, I am slightly unbalanced but I am no killer.
I wonder what people think of me with my avatar.

Was I right?
From what I know of you ....that is probably Brigham Young ? (or how ever you spell that)
A hippy with broad views? That's a contradiction in terms.
Avatars certainly affect how I preceive new posters - eg. aggressive avatar suggests insecurity - but for regulars they're mostly just recognition.
I still despise crossgender avvies. Stop it, dammit!![]()
Sometimes people confuse me as being a female due to having women avatars.
Mostly Saddam Hussien, it was his favourite breakfast I heard.and I also wonder what people think of me when they see MY avvie.
Does your despise extend to posters having a famous model or actress as an avatar, such as Igloodude or Dell19?
I certainly hope so - TLC's (and others' who feel the same) annoyance is the only reason I've been keeping it, lately.![]()
I make an exception for Dell19.![]()
You're right, and that is because people haven't understood my point. So here it is again; I believe that the avatar (more than the sig and the username since the avatar is an image and our brain prioritises such over texts) affects wich mood we choose to think a message was written in.Abaddon said:isnt this thread turning into a duplicate of the other avatr thread?
Interesting, why this assumption? Is it that you're Swedish and that the "a" in the end of Ingvina sounds like a typical Swedish feminine ending, or is it something else? Something I said? My present or former avatars perhaps?mrtn said:@Ingvina Freyr: I've assumed you're female, right or wrong?
I don't think there's too much of a such effect. The post I'm replying to, frex, is coming as somewhat exasperated, which isn't the emotion your avvie expresses. I don't think of Jawz II as perpetually angry, still less of Chukchi Husky as perpetually happy. You're right, and that is because people haven't understood my point. It matters that you are familiar with the poster, but not very much IMO. If the poster have a kind, smiling avatar, we probably think the message was written in that mood. In my OP I showed that we can descieve ourself easily.
So the question (again) is? How much do you think an avatar affect your perception of posts? The mood in wich they were written.

Wow, it's almost like you read his mind, or any of his previous posts! Amazing!
