How Do Avatars Affect Your Perception Of Posts?

Perf is probably the most aggressively sciency poster here ...
You keep talking, Mr. Black Hole ...
But you're right, it's a general comment.
I see you as a Slozenger. :p

That reminds me, there used to be a poster who went by "Slozenger", and he started a thread asking how to get a picture of the barbarian like the one in Abaddon's avatar ...

A hippy with broad views? That's a contradiction in terms.
Well, I notice hippies tend to think on a longterm global ecological scale (albeit many are misguided) while militaristic types tend to take a short sighted, nation specific economic view only (of course the economic is dependent on a habitable planet but that is often ignored).

I think the question should be turned around, too. How do posts affect avatars? I can't play cIV, for example, without starting to think about all kinds of posters.

And since somebody already asked it, what image do I convey? :D

yes i do that all the time like i used to think atlas was some kind of super hippie or somthing

what throws me off is when somone has a smilie in ther signature it kinda looks like the smilie is part of ther post

How about people with no Avatars?
I would guess that people with no avatars (or with Civ avatars) would be taken less seriously because they have the look of a "newb". If you don't look at the postcount, you associate anything other than an unfarmiliar avatar with a new person or a person you've never heard of.

Dude, Red Stranger has completely ruined Alexander the Great from Civ 4. Now I despise that character's image. I can't look at it without thinking that Alexander the Great is completely childish looking and that Alexander the Great is probably the dumbest person on Earth.

avatars dont really affect me as i read posts first and then look at the pretty pictures

It looks like it's from furry porn, which I happen to find mucho creepy.

You sure do have a strange view of things, and their avatar dosen't look like something one of those sick people would draw{I mean really, how would you know what that stuff looks like, anyway?}. Anyway, their avatar probably indicates that they like foxes, and that there may be a possibility that there a girl; either that, or they just like how it looks. Or is it a wolf?

I've seen furry porn because people have found it a good idea to show me some, and Husky's avvie could be copied straight from some of that stuff.

I wonder what people think of me with my avatar.
Kindness.

Neutralness.

I get confused everytime Xanik makes serious posts. He has a lol smiley in his sig and i keep thinking he is kidding or smthing.

But what makes you so sure that thats one of those sick things?

Kindly read my posts a bit more attentively - I said it looks like it is from furry porn, not that it is from furry porn.

I still despise crossgender avvies. Stop it, dammit!
I think the world would be better without crossgender avatars... why can't CivGeneral choose some samurai or something? I suppose it's not so bad if it's a well-known user.
And you can always spot the sciency people with their avatars

You lie! Well, I used to have a sciencie avatar, but a violent internet cartoon isn't likely to make people think, "Ah, a scientist!"
