How is your EU3 Game going?

Formed Hindustan! (1522)

The cores are really nice, and I'm now in the process of conquering Sind in the northwest, which should be quickly followed by Delhi. The infamy from peace deals isn't going to be bothering me for a while :D

My Muscovy - Russia game, the same as the one I sent a brother to kill a brother was from.

In this game every step towards becoming Russia was perfect I got the missions in the absolutely perfect order and got some nice border disputes(hello core on Smolensk and Novgorod:D) and was able to form Russia the instant I annexed Novgorod somewhere in the mid 1400

Poland is gonna get partisioned but they have some scary alliances. I have westernixed my tech and are now just waiting for a useful ruler so I can westernize my military.

My next war is probably gonna be with Prussia though since I have a core on Riga and having tried overextension once I am wary of getting too much noncore territory until my asia cores.

But alas, Prussia have even nastier alliances, Denmark, France, Austria and I am warned by Poland. Mind you, the warning by Poland is okay since I can use it to split them up, but fighting Austria/France and to a lesser extend Denmark(which have all of Sweden) with inferior troops is a little scary.

World map. Algiers and Tuscany are being awesome in this game, especially Algiers beating back Castille in North Africa:cool:

Trebizond is my vassal and Zaporiche is gonna get annexed very soon and Alania and Baku is gonna be mine then my borders should be nice and then Im gonna work on making a huge vassal in the Mid East. The Ottos were unlucky to get drawn into three seperate wars at the same time, with me, Austria and France and since I didnt have the reputation to take any provinces I made them release 4 nations in Anatolia proper.

Which one would you like to see? A Georgian or Armenian nation dominating Anatolia?

Also, Bill of Rights is an awesome Idea and gives a really nice casus belli on most countries.

The only problem I am facing internally at the moment is the huge amount of moslem provinces I got and being fully innovative and Orthodox means I lose 0,75 missionaries a year:sad:

Gamey is acting in unrealistic ways inside the game
Some people who write stories edit the save to remove king, change something related to PU, and that kind of thing, purely for the sake of the history, this is not gamey, what you said however, is completely gamey.

:hatsoff: I guess you win. From reading Paradox Forum AARs, I had grown to think that gamey meant editing the save. Alas, I was wrong.

Would it be considered gamey if one is playing as Brunswick, have Imperial ambitions that are being foiled by a large Bohemia, and is also the leader of a war of Bohemia and Hungary against Austria, to give away Bohemian territory to Austria to reduce their size?

exacly, unless it was needed, for roleplay reasons or when it just makes sense

(as Ottos i gave away mainland GB territory for Burgundy in a colonial war we had no way to win, so they lost some colonies plus that :p)

Are you cheating?

Yes he is. Look at the console bar open, and his list of last cheats used on the left hand side.

As for reducing the size of an ally in a war, it's happened before in history, so I wouldn't consider it particularly gamey.

At least in EU3 (unlike EU2) they have a map of european Russia that's not completely unrelated to historic reality. Rename Vyazma to Kaluga, replace "w" with "v" in Tambow and Saratow and it's pretty decent. They should have included the provinces of Suzdal, Rostov, Galich and Pereslavl (all in the area of Moskva, Vladimir, Kostroma and Yaroslavl) which were all seats of the respective kniazi and overall very important.

I know I've only had this for a couple of days, but I don't think that I've ever played a game that seemed to so very deeply resent my attempts to play it. I must be doing something wrong. :crazyeye:

Nah, that's what everybody goes through when starting playing Paradox games. You'll get into it eventually. It's easily the best startegy game ever made. Feel free to PM me if you really don't get something, though. Paradox forum is a fun place too.

It's the Gaelic spelling of "O'Flaherty". The Gaelic languages just have a somewhat idiosyncratic phonology.

Always wondered why Gaelic writing systems are seemingly so crazily unphonetic. I mean, for example, the spelling of names like Caoimhghín (Kevin), Deasmhumhnach (Desmond), Conchobar (Conor), Cuileán (Collin), Eoghainín (Owen), Cainneach (Kenny) have almost no correlation to how they actually sound, according to Latin alphabet we all know and love. In this regard the Gaels managed to outdo even the French. All in all, it's sorta cool and adds that bit of a national flavour. But is there any popularity in Gaelic world for the idea of spelling simplification?

Peugeot (peh-JOH). Renault (reh-NOH). Eau (OH). Oiseaux (oo-uh-ZOH).

Dunno, mang, not sure ;)

Not in a situation like this, but when they were really losing the war and had to concede the peace the enemy wanted.
