How is your EU3 Game going?

It also takes some time to cool down. In the menu where you can check your forcelimits you can see how much War Exhaustion(WE) you have. If for example you have just finished a long war and your WE was very high and you then get dragged into another war it wont get down and you might even get even more WE.

And being a big empire brings alot of problems which WE makes worse. I would imagine you might have some provinces that are not in your culture or accepted. BAM! extra revolt risk, you have some provinces that are of another religion, BAM! again, other nations have cores on some of your provinces AGAIN!, you have passed your governments limit for centralisation/aristocracy. BAM! you cant afford to build courthouses everywhere means more provinces with high revolt risk.

All of these things influence which provinces that are going to be most likely to revolt, and being big means having a lot of provinces. building courthouses and taking cultural decisions which lowers national revolt risk is in my experience a good way to deal with WE, since the overall amount of revolts gets lowered and you end up not noticing if your WE is starting to climb a bit.

I may be mistaken, but I think the aggressor in the war automatically starts with 3 WE or so.

In my experience, there are two major, major sources of WE: attrition, which is difficult to notice if you have enough manpower to replace those who die, and large naval battles. I've had naval battles that I lost give me 6 or 8 WE at a time.

Look at this beautiful Eastern Europe/Balkans:king:

I'm very proud of how it looks

After getting the borders I have now(I only need a few provinces in china) I decided to make my own network of bufferstates. So the last 100 years I have been partitioning/annexing and releasing nations all over the place. Unfortunately I never got to make a vassal out of Georgia

And a world map

Persia have been awesome in this game until they got gangbanged by France/GB:sad:
It is hard to see on the map but it is actually Syria to the west of Iraq

upper right corner, in the tooltip, you can see that he was Austria

and well, he kinda only survived because of me, as he had lost a war against a Venice-led coallition and was forced to give territory to Venice and release Tirol + Styria...

Aragon is mighty! :king:

Next on Civ'ed's plans: invade Russia! :)
