How is your EU3 Game going?

Well I could, but not in the short term. I don't have a CB on Milan, which means my only (non-vassal) ally Austria, who also happens to be the emperor, would probably DoW me.

Expanding into the empire is much tougher than it was in previous expansions (and it should be, so that's good if annoying)--makes me want to unite northern Italy again, maybe in my next game. :)

I do like the darker colors on the map, so Tuscan purple is okay in my book.

Help! It inherited Hungary and now it's eating GH!

Good grief, they need to be checked. What's happening to England, France, and Spain? Colonies in the New World yet?

Oddly enough, I was the first to colonise the new world.

In the fifteen-seventies.

This may have had sonething to do with the fact that Aragon annihilated Castille, whille getting taken over by France and having occasional border wars with Portugal. Meanwhile, I've been attacking Excommunicated France (I've taken about 1/4 of their territory and made them release another quarter as Guyenne), and England... well, Scotland killed them, then they revolted and killed Scotland.

So I guess they've been too busy. :D

Austria are bad enough with only 4 provinces, I wish you the best of luck.

That does actually look like a nice AI empire. But you're doomed.

There's some hope--most of Austria near his borders is heavy mountain terrain, and Italy has some rough terrain as well.

He needs to declare and force the Austrians to attack him at massive disadvantage, preferably defending with high-shock generals. If he can drag Bohemia in to war as well, he's set.

How do you form a PU via forged documents?

That, and I now have Guyenne in alliance. Plan is to take over France - particularly the bits in the HRE which I can get cores on - and build up my forcelimits enough that I have armies that can take on Austria.

Besides, it's not so bad - Austria is currently in alliance with me :D

My umpteenth time as trying to succeed as the Roman Empire.

Took a rather unorthodox approach at the start of the game by declaring war on the Ottomans and blitzing their lone Greek province while my navy sent only 1 galley a time to prevent an ottoman invasion, half the time my galleys succeed in returning to port before the Ottoman fleet arrives. After a while the Ottomans grew wise and parked their massive 15 galley navy on the straits thus denying me from blocking the Ottoman invasion.

Fortunately at this time I had built up a sizable cavalry force with a minor infantry presence and prepared to engage at our newly acquired Greek province, our 15 strong force crushed a 25 regiment Ottoman army and promptly followed them into the eye of the storm, eliminating the remaining force in Asia Minor before detaching a small 6 regiment infantry force to besiege 2 provinces and retreating back to our capital, which was under siege from Ottoman forces, their largest at 30 regiments. Along the way I picked up an additional 10 regiments to bolster my ranks (while plunging my economy and nation into bankruptcy) I engaged them at Konstantinople with 19 regiments to their 30, and with a surprisingly good general, crushed them convincingly, and followed them into Asia Minor where I discovered I killed their leader in the previous battle which pushed the Ottomans into a Regency Council and spawned at least 4 rebel stacks. 3 of which were loyal to Rome and strong.

Following the next 2 years the Ottomans floundered and flailed as my armies triumphantly marched without check supporting my friendly rebel armies in taking towns and completely occupied all of the Ottoman lands. Peace was secured by taking half of the Ottoman lands (those I had cores in) and 100 ducats in reparations. The Ottomans reluctantly accepted and suddenly Europe took notice, Venice, Naples and England all offered an alliance and almost all of Europe asked for the Princess' hand in marriage. Many accepted a niece or other member of the family. :D

At the time of the posting, 1386, Rome has just got out of a religious war with the Heretics after our King passed a law that prohibited Roman Nobility from converting to the Islamic faith and repossessing all possessions and excommunicating those Nobles that did convert. Rome won the war easily and the Muslims were forced to leave Rome in disgrace and those who chose to defiantly remain in Rome were arrested and executed. Rome will not tolerate heretics. This action ultimately cost us our alliance with England and Venice, but Naples remains by our side. They also have problems with their own church, being excommunicated and now surrounds the city of Rome in Italy, the Papal States now owning only Rome and a province in southern France, if the war ended now.

Is that Milan I see blobbing all over Anatolia, the Levant, and now Arabia?

It is. Another plan I had was to somehow set Milan and Austria against each other - it'd destroy two formidable opponents at once (declare war on the still-depleted winner :D)

:bump:

My Tuscan game, again:

Really turning out to be an interesting one as well. Colonisation of the Americas is being mostly done by myself, the Hansa, Guyenne, France (in Mexico) and Milan (inherited colonies from Aragon), but nearly everyone has a hand in. The Timmies are long since dead. Rajputana is the undisputed master of India, while Vijayanagar is fully occupied by a mixture of Europeans, rebels and southern Indian minors (notably Travanacore, who occupies about sixty percent of the country). Ming and Manchu are both intact.

Austria remains huge but invariably fails to get its armies to the European end of its territory before signing a peace deal and handing over three or four provinces. Milan is the same, a bit better with army manoeuvring due to its different territory though.

France has been crippled. Both Aragon and Castille have been wiped off the map, and Iberia has been divided about equally between Portugal, France and Milan (who inherited Aragon, of course). Navarra is a 2PM allied with me, and Galicia is also independent.

Bohemia is the Emperor, however they haven't done their usual blobbing thing. Well, they've blobbed a bit, but in Russia rather than Poland and Germany.

Tyrone owns four of five Irish provinces after decalring independence from a united (by Connacht) Ireland.

All that said, maps are probably easier to understand:
