How is your EU3 Game going?

In my still going Milan-->Italy game (for the record, I formed Italy in the early 1470s when Firenze cored, the other cores coming with a couple missions), I am moving into Russia and the Middle East. Hungary will vanish at the end of this war, and Alexandria is all that separates me from a land connection from Savoie to around Safi.

Here's my Leinster -> Ireland -> Great Britain -> Ireland game.

Spoiler :

Started off pretty standard; built a unit, attacked Munster while they still only had one. Annexed them. Built up a bit more, annexed Connaught, then just straight out annexed Tyrone right after that. Built my army up to its maximum & waited for Scotland and England to go to war; them I jumped on them. I was going to grab Cumbria as well as Meath, but unfortunately England was making a comeback and my army was about to be wiped out, so I accepted just Meath in the peace deal for the First Anglo-Irish War.
After that I claimed Holland's throne, won that war, and claimed the Welsh throne, where I won again, with Scotland's aid. I DoW'd England again, grabbed the southern coast, and from there on out I was declaring war every 5 years and taking a little bit more each time. By the time England was down to London and a few northern provinces, Scotland guaranteed them, but they were very, very weak; I beat England, nabbed everything but London, then beat Scotland around and took over their English territories. I integrated Holland around this time and inherited Wales shortly after. I beat Scotland down again, took some more land and vassalized; after that, all of my attention has been focused on taking more and more Dutch/west German land. The entire HRE hates Austria, so they have a very weak emperor - at one point the Palatanate was the Emperor. It's currently Brandenburg, who are still very small, so I frequently (As in every year or so) beat the HRE up and grab some more vassals/land.
The question here is - do I form Great Britain & Culture Shift, or remain as Ireland? I'm leaning towards remaining as Ireland.

Mosher: Stay as Ireland, it's cooler. ;)

Really? Isn't it interesting that you act like if he wasn't discussing as well? His posts contributed as much to the thread as mine.

As for posting games where cheats were used, do you think most of the players accept somenoe who uses cheats to post his "empire" in a thread like this one? Really, try doing that in the Paradox forums, where there is a lot more EUIII players, there were similar discussions in the past and it was not nice, i don't think people will even consider your post a valid one, they never did. Some will ignore, but some will openly speak against the posting of this kind of screenshot, like i have done there.
If you use cheats, keep it to yourself, i'm not the only one that doesn't likes it and a lot of people use the console to mess with the game, but keep it to themselves. (or post in the strange screenshots thread when something is interesting)

There's no need for a rule to exist, that's common sense.
Also, why use cheats to try to form Russia the earliest? You'll not beat any records (earliest formation is 1406 in vanilla, IIRC) and the game lasts until 1821. (and more in D&T/MEIOU)
No wonder people usually don't continue playing a save file until 1821, they think everything is a race.

if you don't like people using cheats in their own game that they payed for keep it to yourself you annoying git.

Well, I just bought EU III on Steam and I have been a long time player of Victoria 2 so what is the biggest differences? A little begginer help is appriseited.

the main difference is that EUIII is mainly about conquering all that stands in your way while maintaining a thousand personal unions and remaining Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire.
but for a start, I'd recommend Bohemia (nice start as Emperor), Castille (for quick military action and an easy way to get the hang of forming a culture union, Venice (to learn about trade and republics), and if you have Divine Wind, I'd suggest playing Ming to get the hang of the factions and Minamoto for the shoguns,
Needless to say, I think the first country I seriously played was Tuscany.

Congratulations on bringing back this discussion, please, keep your words to yourself instead of being uncivilized.
Also, i don't mind people using cheats, i just don't like posting it there like if it was a legitimate game and then, hours later, saying they had used cheats.

I'm not going to continue this discussion, no matter how much you try to provoke it, i don't want the thread to be cluttered because some random internet user wants to troll in the thread.

Now, taking the trolling attempt out of the way :

I'm going to be the traditional veteran and suggest you to read AARs in the Paradox Forums, they help. a lot.
For a country to play as, try Castille or Austria, they are pretty good and strong, and will allow you to learn the basics of colonization (castille), diplomacy and warfare.

EU3 isn't like this:

Link to video.

Starting in EU3, try to play Castille which is a great country to learn the game. Your goals should be finishing the Reconquista, unifying Spain and colonizing the New World. ;)

First rule of EU3: The game goes on forever. You have way more time than you think. Going over the infamy limit for that one extra province is not worth it. It'll still be there when your infamy is lower. Likewise with declaring war without a CB.
