How many countries can you name?

No London = bogus source. Sorry. :nono:

As defined by the Office for National Statistics the population of the Greater London Urban Area is around 8.5 million.

Its metropolitan population is 12.8 million though.

Its not about bogus sources, just different definitions.

That was surprising, yes. But bear in mind that apparently, the creator got the numbers for this quiz from Statistics Norway, which also supplies those numbers to the government, apparently. So you trust Wikipedia more than the Norwegian government. :p

Here is a good one, name the 100 most common words in the English language.

It was hard. I only got 59

I started making up a story (a spy thriller ) in my head, and typed in all the common words that cropped up. Because if they really are common, then most of them will, won't they? Got 77.

Wow, nice quick thinking :goodjob:

I also got 59. There's plenty, like this and that, that I can't believe I missed. :cringe:

However I stopped halfway through to share my outrage:

Under 'Elements' is listed

"Aluminium

26/49

4 letters: 7/10
5: 18/24
6: 30/31

I hate island nations.

131, most of the ones I missed came from Africa. I missed a few due to spelling, never having had to previous spell plenty of those in English. Bosnia was one missed due to that, along with nearly all of Turkmenistans neighbours. Afghanistan was also nearly missed, because in Finnish it's spelled without the 'h'.

Found a game someone mentioned earlier;

20 minutes time limit

Wish me luck :goodjob:

EDIT: 9 minutes left, I gave up, with 42 :D

Hey! I could spell 87 capitals in English! Not that bad!
