How many countries can you name?

Pretoria worked, but it accepts all 3 capitals right?

No, it doesn't, which is a mistake, although perhaps they only included one for ease of marker placement on the map. According to someone in the comments section, Bolivia and Swaziland also have more than one capital, but Sporcle only accepts one particular city for each.

A more pressing question is: if you knew that South Africa has three capitals, and what they were, why did you keep typing in Cape Town and not the other two? ;)

I did the countries again, and this time 192.

Missed East Timor, The Gabon and Grenada.

Oh and for the first time in my life i spelt Kyrgyzstan correctly.

Simple now that i think of it, Kay-rig-yiz-stan than just remove the vowels. (except for Stan)

I tried Pretoria, and mistaked Bloemfontein (sp?) with Johannesburg but there was still a spot, i guess it was Namibia's capital.

Here is a good one, name the 100 most common words in the English language.

http://www.sporcle.com/games/common_english_words.php

It was hard. I only got 59

I liked that one. I got 77 too. I started reciting memorized stuff in my head, like speeches and poems and songs and stuff. Only missed "at" and "or" in the top 54.

I still wanna see other peoples' times on the US states. C'mon, Americans!

capitals - 117
I missed for example Washington (dont know that dc needed) New Delhi(still trying just Delhi, Dilli)...for spelling reasons I wasnt able write Riyajdh?,Pnom pneh?, adis addeba?,ulaanbaatar?, kathmandu?, PyongYang? and Bucharest(odd).
On the other hand, some capitals were typed without knowledge of which country they are.

first attempt at world map - 130 out of 195...did this under heavy fatigue, dozed off for five mins.

135. I missed quite a lot obvious ones, but the best must have been Finland :D

40... Missed Ivory Coast, Maldives and Equatorial Guinea.

Same, but for 'Maldives' read 'North Korea'. :dubious: It's probably the most obvious one and I managed to miss it. I have a problem with the Koreas - they're probably my most-missed countries on the world map quiz and others that involve maps, just because I never expect them to be there, just hanging off China like that.

I forget exactly what I missed, all I remember is randomly guessing countries in the Middle East and Africa. Worked very well.

Same here, was surprised by Qatar and UAE though.

That strategy however missed Equatorial Guinea, Ivory Coast. Maldives is ok to admit i guess.

It would be good to see how Americans do compared to normal people.

Americans arent normal?

The trend in this thread has shown that Europeans do seem to do very well in these. Just go through the thread and see who got the high results.

btw i tried the world map once more, and i got 195 :D I think i memorized Africa.

Shut up, I got 170 in my first try, and most of those were islands.

Or wait, do you mean the more Stupid Americans?

To be fair, it's a stereotype with a point.
