I am a hard but not excessively hard drinker

I drink rarely. Sometimes I go for drinks after work (once or twice a month maybe?), in which case it's 3 pints and I'm good for the whole night. On weekends sometimes I go to the pub (every other weekend or so), which means 4 pints on a Saturday or 3 on a Sunday. If we have lunch there too then that's an extra pint if it's a Saturday, but not if it's a Sunday.

Basically, I want to get up to that nice buzzy 3-pint level relatively quickly, and then stay there as long as possible without going over or under. The above puts me in that place and keeps me there pretty well.

You can't spell paradise without para, either... Wait... I think I'm missing a point here.

I'm a parachutist by trade, which carries with it a stereotype of getting extremely drunk at the slightest opportunity or excuse.

I don't drink very often because I have no job and therefore no money, but even if I did drink more frequently it wouldn't be in excess. Only twice have I gotten legitimately drunk, and the most recent of those I threw up blood, so I try to avoid letting it get that bad these days.

I'm not sure that throwing up blood is explained entirely by being drunk, somehow...

Actually, I got that part. I think it was the 'paralytic' that threw me. :)

I drink either Friday or Saturday most weekends. 3 or 4 pints is plenty.

Occasional I will have more but they would be spaced out.

I have been asked to go to the college bar tomorrow night - it should be interesting.

I have a whisky every week night after dinner while reading.
I drink more on the weekends, at events, parties, etc.

I guess i'm a rarity - i drink often and get drunk VERY fast (2-3 beers).

My tolerance to alcohol from beer hasn't changed in the last 4 years.

My tolerance to hardliquor changed a lot faster (so i stopped drinking hardliquor).

Also yay wine.

"Buzzed" is not a feeling non-Americans feel :p
You wound me, sir.

'Sides,

So apparently there's a lot of us crypto-Americans in the UK. :p

I generally drink 6-8 beers a night. I don't care for hard liquor as much or wine but it's good sometimes. I should cut back on drinking because it's a bit expensive in Turkey. I can't tolerate as much alcohol as I used to which is odd since I'm not really that old.

Dang, dude - 6 to 8 beers every night?? Do get wasted all the time? Is Turkish beer strong or weak?

(I guess I should have qualified that in my response; when I say I drink 4+ beers and get drunk, that's generally beers with 6% ABV or higher. Most macrobrewed American lagers like Miller Lite are 3-4% ABV, for comparison.)

Efes is 5%. 6 a night is generally too little for me but I try to stick to that on weekdays. By 8 I'm normally pretty hammered but not too much if I take it slowly but lately that seems to be decreasing.

Well I heard Anna Nicole Smith used to drink 3 bottles of champagne a night.

Because that's the playbook you want to steal a page from, right? ;)

last night consisted of 6 beers 4 shots of jamo and four tall whiskey sours. Couldve kept going but wanted to stop before I lost all sense of a good point to close my tab.

Efes is great.
