I dont see a problem with it. Its very much tied into the idea that religion still dominates marriages, and it makes the rules.
Most people wouldnt do such a thing, but others might. But hey, its not going to effect anybody else, and it isnt immoral and sick such as marrying your sister.

IMO When husbands cheat on their wives, or vice versa, they are doing much the same thing, just being less honest about it.

One wife is perfect for me personally, but socially I have no problem with polygamy.

Economically, it is difficult to foresee the effects. Tax-wise, I'd think they'd just equate "polygamist" with "single" and be done with it. Inheritance-wise, it'd be broadly sticky, but a good accountant and a prepolynuptial (or, if you prefer, a polygamal set of bylaws) would go far in preventing problems.

I do not understand Silver's argument in favour of having multiple wives.
