Ideas, Requests, and Feedback

Hey Valk I just realized, the Goliath ingame doesn't have its own custom unit art portrait/button featuring its model, instead its current using a Vinchi power suit from RoL, and you see my avatar I'm using ATM is something I wipped up with my Goliath model...well maybe it would make a good build pic/unit portrait for the Goliath.

What size and format would it have to be to be used? =P

Its a pity to Rise of Legends models have never been ripped/extracted every single one of the Vinchi units and buildings would be 100% perfect for the Mechanos =P

Godslayer was given to me when ascension was completed, so I should be fine unless I hit myself with it :)
Basium is my diplomat, slowly making peace with everyone. Is the gate supposed to be buildable by evil or non-Order civs?
Khazad is our vassal, but it was a long dead civilization - forts are keeping them going

Well, Hyborem and Taranis are probably the only two civs that may need to be blocked from building the Mercurian gate. At least lore wise.

I mean, you could justify it for other civs sure .... but pure Demons shouldn't be able to summon angels ;)
 
You managed to complete Ascension? I thought it was broken? Or was that for Ilyans only? :crazyeye:
 
I never knew it was broken. I'd never played as the Frozen before so I thought I'd try them out. I started off as Illians and deleted all my army before unlocking the Frozen, so I could steal back all my cities and beelined to ascension. I suspect I was given the Godslayer because the Illians were the most advanced race (even though they were dead and I was hogging their cities)
 
hi, i have a very nice thing in mind. are there some new civs coming up or is it useless to post ideas about the "Children of Margâs", a civ of evil children-looking fire-mages, who are specialized in fire magic, molesting animals and the natural enemies of all living beings?
 
tell me where to post this, but - to indruduce myself, I come from germany - and realized there is no german translation, all the buttons (even in the main menu) show no letters, so ... if you need translation, tell me hwat to do (which files, how to insert and so on, wehre to send). I will do it ... just tell me!

I'll have to go through and make sure Godslayer cannot be given to the ascending civ (or their vassals, teammates, or followers of the White Hand).

The fort thing is aggravating me as well, need to fix it. :p

Only for Illians, due to the way the "Auric must be alive" req was coded. I modified it for 1.31; Not only does it work now, it does so without any complicated loops. Recycled a counter variable I had made for the Grigori Adventurers. ;)

Best thing to do would be to make a new thread in the forum, and post your ideas.

Keep in mind though, the likelihood of anyone else deciding to make the civ is low; Far better to learn how to do it yourself, as it's not difficult. :goodjob:

It was just a bug with some text; Non-english texts were left blank for a single textkey, which kills the text for all of the languages it was left blank for. :crazyeye:
 
Hm... with this many good ideas for new civs we mod-mod-moders should gather round somewhere and make a common thread for ideas just about that lol.

This said, where are the XML entries for the rituals located?

I would hold off on making a thread about that for a little while. :mischief:

Rituals are just renamed Projects; Check GameInfo/Civ4Projects.xml
 
sorry, i didnt get the thing with the german language? what is/was wrong and how do I fix it? Or won't I because I can't? would help a lot! Until today I played FF and it works perfectly there ...

and second: where is the tutorial how to design and implement a new civ (both graphically and by coding). I dont know how to do both but where and how do I learn! In short: what do I need to know!
 
As of now: Switch to English. Once 1.31 is released, it will again function for all languages.

For tutorials... There aren't any with FfH specifically in mind, but there are modules that you can copy.

A very good example would be the Mekaran Order, by Jheral and distributed with RifE. It's files are located in Rise from Erebus/Assets/Modules/Mekaran Order.
 
does it make sense to start with translations for the new stuff. I would need to know what really isn't translated yet and what maybe already is but is not in the current version 1.30... do you already have someone who's making translations for you?
 
If you check the text files, you can see all the text which is translated. For example, from Assets/XML/Text/Civ4GameText_FFPlus.xml:

This one would be untranslated. To translate, just enter the proper text in the line for whichever language is being translated. We will gladly include translations, as we do not have anyone translating them atm. :goodjob:

a little imrovement could be more options to be set on a custom game:
  • no events ( for a oos-free lan game :mad: )
    disabling ranged attacs ( for a oos-free lan game :mad: )
    maybe a ( optional) reduction of the savages ( many times i am wiped out < turn 20) :D
    more map types ( my rife installation had only 2 maptypes..so i copied the older ones from other mod (ffhbased) to my rife folder :p
    a limitation to traderoutes...somewhat overpowered later in the game
btw: is rife the only ffhmod beinig developed any further ??? :confused:
 
I really don't understand how Liberation is supposed to work: is it perhaps broken, or not properly functioning? It seems every game has some civilization summoning Taranis, which is spawned always near my borders -then proceding to turn the world into a Frozen wasteland. It's very annoying, since the Frozen capital is also extremely well defended, making an early blitz impossible.

I realize Taranis can be turned off with a "custom game" option, but in normal games he -always- makes an appearance which, quite frankly, I cannot find any reason for: game-wise, I find it incredibly annoying (his blizzards can cripple and entire civilization, and can turn even Malakims deserts into tundra); lore-wise, it seems he is spawned after a ritual that can be completed by ANY civ, not only by those following the white hand. Does the player completing the ritual gain some bonus?
