...waht would you choose?

and it would have to be the website in its present form; so don't pick CFC and expect to post a question about civ, and get a response, ever. And you only have the site, not the sites it links to (so google wouldn't be a wise choice).

what would you choose?

Well if I couldn't contact people anyway (making the above relatively useless) I would have to go for Wikipedia.

Since I'm going to be alone I'll pick a website with Jenna and Brianna in it.

BBC.co.uk - there was any contest!

Although the squizzilions of news sections would not be of little interest to me on a desert island, the site has some footage and free music, and communities (everything from health to cooking and history), and broadcast listings, flash games (for children, but oh well), various pointless contests, and they might even publish the bazaar ramblings of a psychotic loonatic stranded on a desert island - which would almost certainly be posted to them. What more could I ask for? :)

Plus they have the weather. Hot topic for discussion, that ;)

I have no idea what else they have. It is an easy site to get lost on.

Huh? The site has been downloaded onto disk and will never be updated?

Damn.

In which case... it is not a website and thus a trick question.

I was going to say refdesk.com, but it is pretty much a collection of offsite linking.

So, I'd go with wikipedia, or encyclopediabritannica.com or something like that.

ohhhhhhh...good naswer :goodjob: before i was going to say miniclip, but this sounds like a better idea

The whole Livejournal please - every user, every community :P

A site containing strategies for survival in wilderness and stuff... ;)

Being a sex crazed man you can probably guess the kind of site I would have ;)

That was my second thought :D
But would get boring by some time.. wouldn't it?

Better than drawing pictures in the sand!

Okay, you got point :P

Miniclip sounds good to me. I already waste a good amount of time there, and the games mean you wont just be sitting reading all the time like if you choose wikipedia (how boring would that get???). Or www.HowTogetOffThisDesertIsland.info. that might be quite useful.

I'm going to have to agree with Lozzy on this one. If it's not updated and you can't read the links then Wikipedia is undeniably the best.

Yeah, a site with lots of little games, or porn. I can't decide. Probably the games, cos I can't really day-dream playing pacman...
