Although the squizzilions of news sections would not be of little interest to me on a desert island, the site has some footage and free music, and communities (everything from health to cooking and history), and broadcast listings, flash games (for children, but oh well), various pointless contests, and they might even publish the bazaar ramblings of a psychotic loonatic stranded on a desert island - which would almost certainly be posted to them. What more could I ask for?

Miniclip sounds good to me. I already waste a good amount of time there, and the games mean you wont just be sitting reading all the time like if you choose wikipedia (how boring would that get???). Or www.HowTogetOffThisDesertIsland.info. that might be quite useful.
