I don't have an option of not upkeeping it? I assumed it was like Iron and Blood where you could leave it unfunded but it would fight at less than optimal performance. If not, I'll revise it tomorrow.

The 501st saw a number of Deployments throughout 2201. The first was the hardest. Deyployment to the Gulf Union's Geonosis Region, South East of Tatooine. It was not hard in the sense that they faced a dangerous military force, quite the opposite in fact. The problem with the fighting In Geonosis was that it was unneccessary. Geonosis was part of the Imperium, and was under the Imperium's protection. Yet it's leader refused to accept the rule of the Emperor. And that could not be tolerated.

Lord Vader personally oversaw the operation, and showed that he had some talent for military command. He ordered the 501st to Improvise a fleet of small boats, using which they could attack the various coastal settlements from multiple Directions. In this he saw serious problems that could hinder the Empire in future operations, the lack of support for either aerial or Naval attacks. He would have to bring it up with the Emperor, a single cruiser could have made a huge difference to the attacking troops.

However, the Armour of the Imperial Stormtroopers worked well. What few weapons the enemy could bring themselves to use proved ineffective, and the vast numbers of armoured men terrified most of the resistors into surrendering without much of a fight. It was an easy victory, and the 501st rejoiced at their first success. They had proven thier worth to the Emperor.

The next task was not so easy. Vast numbers had surrendered to the Imperium, but lord Vader declared they were all rebels. An example would be made of those who dared defy the orders of the Emperor. And so it was that, 3 days after the fighting ceased, on the 4th of May 2201, the populace of Geonosis would witness a terrifying spectacle. The rebels were led into the desert plains outside every city, town, village and hamlet, and lined up.

Every 3rd person was shot.

"Friends, Mobians!" The Imperator stood before a crowd, his black, red and white armor obscured from view by a thick, flowing, crimson cape. Standing at the podium with guards all around - and some plainclothes police scattered about the crowd - he was ready to deliver his speech to the "Coryens."

He motioned to large statues to each of his sides - of himself, of course. He was the being most worth honoring.

"Already, Imperial oversight, combined with your sweat and tears, has made for a better life for you all. Roads facilitate commerce, mines pull resources deep from within the planet's crust, fields flourish with crops that can feed us for years to come! Imperial grants and loans ensure there is a new employer on every corner, an employee in every home and a consumer at every business! Banks provide a source of secure savings, while the freedoms you enjoy provide plenty of choices to spend all your hard-earned coin on."

His face took a more solemn look, as if sorrow had penetrated into the depths of his soul and swallowed all glee.

"Alas, not all news is good. As secure as we are from enemies foreign and domestic, there are some things even I have not yet been able to stop entirely. Just recently, a plague has come down on us, sweeping countless children away and rendering many infertile. We have determined that this vile pestilence targets human DNA in particular, and are working on finding a way to remedy its effects. In the meantime, I have directed the government to begin dispensing aid to those affected by this national tragedy, in the hopes of alleviating the suffering inflicted. We may have been born in different nations, but we all reside in one - the greatest of all, Mobius!"

The crowd erupted into cheers as the Imperator left his podium. A dark smile crossed across his lips. Such fools. Such self-devouring idiots these humans were, so easily led into the gaping jaws of the beast. They deserved to be lied to. They deserved to be exploited. They deserved...

...to die.

He had seen the reports Viktor had compiled. Hundreds of thousands dead or rendered incapable of reproducing. Death by hard labor or outright murder were just too visual; he had to depict himself as a benevolent overlord who just was horrifically unlucky. Little did they know this plague was one his engineers had developed all the way back on Mobius, in the hopes of purging human populations. It had a very limited time it could survive, only the span of a few days, thus preventing anything catastrophic, such as its mutation into an anti-Mobian strain.

A peculiar trait of this super virus was how it rarely every afflicted the blonde-haired or blue eyed. Shadow himself had made sure of this... as much as he despised humanity, he couldn't help but remember the one good human he'd met... such a kind girl. It made him seem melancholic for a moment... remember that not all human beings were obsessed with destroying the environment for personal gain, with spilling eachother's guts out over ideological differences or being indifferent to their brothers' plight.

...but alas, he had other priorities. What he didn't have were regrets.

He was the Ultimate Life Form. The Ultimate Emperor. The Ultimate GOD. All these worthless lives belonged to him anyway.

General Warfield looked at the conference table. Most anybody who was anyone in the Enclave was here, which was why the meeting was taking place on the rig. "Gentlemen and ladies." Warfield began "Some of our scouts in Mexico and up in Alaska have reported that the oceans - at least as far as they've been able to see from the coastline - are clear seas. Not the green, radioactive, occasionally burning sea we are sitting in right now."

"That...doesn't make any sense." Dr. Curling stammered. "Part of the ocean can't be messy and another part clear."

"But it is." A strong voice at the head of the table stated. "And since it is, we must examine the possibilities."

"Yes, sir." General Warfield acknowledged. "The opinion of my intelligence department is that this implies the destruction from the Great War wasn't as total as we thought. Sure, it was total for California and most of the inland area we've reclaimed, but Alaska looks like it was never hit."

"So we can access those resources in Alaska the war started over and we thought were gone forever?" Vice President Elizabeth Keene excitedly questioned.

"Yes ma'am, but that's not the big picture here. If the damage wasn't as total as we thought, then the entire world might not be radioactive. If the entire world is not a radioactive wasteland, then we might encounter other large powers with the technology to make us pay for trying to kill every last one of them with a biological weapon." Warfield grimly stated. "In addition, there's a good chance this nation's capital still exists. I don't need to tell you the implications if it does."

"Well. I find the odds of running into any power which can oppose the Enclave rather low." The Voice issued. "But we can handle that - this country is still full of nuclear missile silos, so if we get control back, we can use those missiles as a bargaining chip."

Dantooine was much easier than Geonosis. Whereas Geonosis had been willing to fight, most of the rebels in Dantooine abandoned their weapons before the 501st even arrived. They knew what would happen to them otherwise. It was now that the 501st began to appreiciate what they had done in may, began to understand just what that brutal day might mean for their future Campaigns. In the entire Dantooine region, less than 1000 people attempted to make a stand against the stormtroopers. This time, when the time came to punish those who had fought, there was a lower death toll.

Despite the fact that this time, half of them were executed.

The men of the 501st were glad that thier next deployment would be in hostile land. The Emperor had decided to give the remaining regions of the Union a chance to reconsider their defiance. The Imperial army was certain the rebels would change their minds. With two such massacres as examples of Imperial policy, none would possibly wish such a thing upon their own troops. And even if they did, surely no man would fight when he understood that all they might gain was death.

They were glad that this meant there would be no such massacres in their remaining campiagn. The expansion of the Yavin dominion was the conquest of a hostile land, there were no rebels to be punished here. But even here the 501st found resistance had lessened considerably since the last year. Their bloody pacification of Geonosis and Dantooine had made its mark, and the people of India were far less willing to fight the perpetrators of such deeds. The Yavin Dominion doubled in size that year.

Later the same day

"Ah, [poop], I was right. It was too easy. As soon as we pulled into the hideout, I saw one of the most horrible sights ever. A bunch of vigilantes surrounded the building, armed and pulling out dead bodies. Those dead bodies were... all the other Damascus Assassins. During my assassination, these people, clearly pro-Greek, must have been able to piece where our base was and seiged the building. How we lost even I can't figure out, but the important thing is that they hated us, and we were now there.

The main guy started yelling at his friends right after he noticed us, and then they started firing at us. We both ducked down, and Fariha told me to "stop dicking around and open the glove department". Opening it, I saw she stashed two pistols. I tossed her one and grabbed the other. Meanwhile, they had SMGs and assault rifles, and from that moment I thought I knew I would die there. However, Fariha had other thoughts, and she opened the car door, and started using it as cover. I did the same, as I had no better ideas at this point besides not dying.

The gunfight was intense. They were hellbent on killing the "Assassin [censored]" that were "disturbing the peace". Eventually the two doors got so busted that we each fled to different cars. After about a minute or so of continuous fire, I reached a dilemma. There was still three guys left, but I was out of ammo. Fariha somehow had more ammo than I did; she probably keeps it with her like if she's some post-doomsday survivor. Anyways, she got hit in her hand and her gun flew away from her and slid underneath a car. While she frantically reached for it, it finally dawned to me that not only would I die today, but she would as well. Apparently, that made me grow a pair, as I jumped out screaming, hidden blade exposed, and stabbed one of the three right in the heart. The other two were too shocked to react, and I was able to stab the second guy two times in the chest. The third guy finally got it into him, and pulled out an emergency pistol. I heard the BOOM, and I saw that he collapsed. Fariha got her gun and the shot.

I was hyperventilating at that point, and I stared at her. After about ten seconds of silence, she told me about how we didn't have much time and that we need to go to Order lands before others find us. I nodded and we both went in to get what we needed. Those people weren't done dragging out the bodies, as corpses littered the place. I thought I was going to puke. The first thing I did was to change out of the white clothes into something less obvious. Then I took my ceremonial robes and anything else I might need to prove my membership. After that, I grabbed a crapton of food in case we needed to go on foot or some other emergency. Meanwhile, she stole the keys to a van some Assassin had and took some weapons from around the building. Fariha tossed me an antique SMG that had to be multiple centuries old. She stated she found it in Adib's room, our resident gun nut, and that he claimed it was used in the Second World War by the Nazis when he was alive. Neither of us remembered what it was called, neither of us cared. We got into the van and drove off.

Next stop: Lebanon"

EL Presidente set on a balcony outside his room in a high-rise hotel in Panama. He was sipping on a fruit drink, and just listening to the music on the radio and watch the world pass by. The Ministers also sat around him, enjoying the sun as well. The peace was broken with a shout of "Viva La Revolution!". General Rodriguez just sighed and picked up the radio.

General Rodriguez: We got rebels on New Royal Street. Not a lot though.

Soldier on Radio: Alright, sending troops.

He then just sat back in his chair, laid down the radio and went back to enjoying the day. Gunfire erupted on the street, people were screaming, dying, or getting wounded. An average day in Panama. Finally, Penultimo got up and asked the question on everyone's mind.

Penultimo: Why is there a lot of rebels?

El Presidente: I think its the Somalian Pirates who tried to colonize here, and getting them to rebel.

Miss Pineapple: Its probably Betty who is inciting them.

Reverend Esteban: We aren't building enough churches, and drinks!

Everyone clutched to their chairs as a shot echoed down the street. Apparently, the rebels have gained access to tanks, and there were more and more of them, the army was losing. El Presidente sighed, and picked up the radio on the table.

El Presidente: We are going to have to leave until it calms down a little here. Send a chopper to take us to the dock okay?

Voice: Will do.

Turn 3 - 2202

Free Commieland has exploded forward onto the world stage, with an immensely powerful economy, with no other state even close to rivaling it. The Gulf Imperium is the second strongest economy, but it is noticeably behind Commieland. The largest army in the world, of almost 400,000 men, is fielded by Egypt still, though the title of World's Largest Navy must be split between the Empire of the Rising Quill and The Caribbean Federation, each with approximately twenty fighting ships.

2202 is the Year Of Border Conflicts, as vicious battles of claiming rights have sprung up around the globe. Rus and Commieland squabble over Slovakia, while the Assassin's Order and Empire of the Illuminating Light clash over many smaller Balkan states.

Speaking of claim conflicts, Panama, despite the rampage of the man known only as Athers, has shifted its allegiance fully to Somalia in recent months. Athers' attacks have begun to step up. In a similar vein, the people of Syria have thrown the Assassin's Order occupational forces out, pledging their loyalty to the Empire of the Illuminating Light.
