NEW ENGLAND ALLIANCE FALLS APART​

The New England Alliance falls apart today.

First, Portugal declared independence, and restored the republic. Even with that done, the years it had as a state was legendary, including the addition of the English language in their lives, and their anthem is now a modified version of "My Country 'Tis of Thee" with Portugal based lyrics.

Down in America itself, a communist nation, the Great Plains Federation, was declared, with their capitol being Detroit. The Primer currently wishes Ohio back, and the right to keep Kentucky, but is willing to make peace with all nations.

Finally, in occupied Britain, President Omega fled to their, where the troops are still loyal (I'm saying screw you to the map, as I'm playing as this nation) to him. By now, President Omega (Whom is President in name only, as a law was passed to keep him into power until the war ends) is old and is dying, knowing probably he will pass on as one of the most hated man ever. Still, he gives one last order on his death bed to secure Britain for a new nation for the New England values. His general in Britain, General George D. Sherman, now organizing the occupation zone into a military junta, takes it upon himself to follow Omega's last wish, declaring The Kingdom of New England. While pretty much everyone knows it was named because of the New England Alliance, Sherman states it was called so because "It is an usher of a new age for England, thus New England".

The war-weary populace of Petrograd and Japan are demanding the governments turn their fortunes around, or the people will do it for them.

Insurrections have erupted in Patagonia, China and the Democratic Christian Republic of Brazil. The rebels have seized control of warheads from Chinese and Brazilian facilities. Whether they intend to use them is currently unknown.


Scientists from Pacifistan have announced plans for a ballistic missile defence system. While untested in the field, they claim it is capable of neutralizing nuclear warheads without triggering radioactive fallout. Based on current calculations, they predict a 75% chance of successful interception.
The missile shield is no small project. Multiple nations may join together to develop it. In order for the plan to be realized, however, net national reputation must equal 100 points.

The other two successors are Portugal and the Great Plains Federation (who inherited Kentucky). Since you didn't conquer any territory, they're willing to make peace for negotiation over ownership of the state. As for Portugal and the KNE, consider them new nations with no diplomatic ties.

OOC: I have a question about the missle defence system. Can nations be banned from working on it. If you need 100 points to get it, a nation with -30 could join and put us way behind just so they could continue nuking everyone. I think it's very sabatogable the way it is right now.
