It is true that we can REACH Africa with the same expense no matter where we may be in the Med. But we cannot defend it with the same ease. Should there be any conflict in the as-of-yet unapproached Muslim nations, we would be much better off controlling the seas around Siciliy as well as the island itself.

We understand your reluctance to cede Sardinia and Corsica, and are content with them going to another nation. But we must politely press that Sicily at the very least be partitioned between us.

And pray tell, why couldn't you just dock at Sicily when it is in Papal hands, or another Christian nation?

You're reasons do not make sense. Instead, you wish to take what has long since been considered Papal land.
