I finished Sekiro. It burned me out on other games. Nothing really challenges me in the same way, nor connects with me, nor brings me as much joy and sense of achievement. I got so immersed in the world I could feel the freaking buddhism emanating from the screen. I started working out before playing to get in the right mindset.
I have beaten Sword Saint Isshin in all four phases and it did not take me as long as I thought. I had almost hoped I would need longer to finish the game. Without a doubt the best fight I have ever seen in any game til now, easily the most difficult, too. I even went all the way, did Demon of Hatred, all the other minibosses, many sidequests, and started NG+. But I can just breeze through it. The game, it feels, is over, and playing it anymore than this feels mostly empty. The entire point of the game was obviously personal growth, and I'm not getting much from it anymore. So I feel like I'm done. Don't feel like moving onto Dark Souls, it's a lot more frustrating and I don't want that in my life, or at least not now
I am having a real bad time trying to enjoy video games lately.
Exact same here. Videogames mostly tick me off or are simply unsatisfactory. I genuinely do not think there are many (by my stupid standards) good games out there yet I really do want to play.
Some of my friends play LoL or TFT and that stuff just makes me kinda miserable. We used to play Civ 6 as a group but honestly, I don't really like the game anymore, sadly the expansions or the seasons pass changed nothing about the fundamental problems I have.
Also, I read that Naughty Dog Studios (the maker of the game) massively employed crunch scheduling of 12+ hour days for months and months despite working on the game for almost 7 years.
Not sure if you are familiar with the YouTuber Jim Sterling, but he is basically the current internet authority/poster child on exploitation in the video game industry, and I genuinely enjoy his criticism very much, maybe you'd like him. He was one of the first people to make this particular incident of crunch go boom in the media.
Like what? Work? Next you'll tell me to go outside and cook healthy food.
You know what's more fun than cooking healthy food? Cooking unhealthy food.
