INES II: Gone is the Old Guard

Very lucky is the ing understatement of the week.

Eh. My policy is 'when in doubt allow, and then integrate people's opinions on what should have happened into the next update.' It's supposed to be a fun NES, after all. Still, I wouldn't have created the situation I did if you people had ordered a situation that allowed less creative freedom. Given the ambiguous situation I was handed, letting the nuclear codes be relatively easy for a team of experts to crack led to an interesting standoff, and so I took it.

Imago, you've been a great mod thus far, its just, we feel.. like we we're given the shaft a bit, is all. This has been a very/fun great NES so far, and I'll definently rejoin. It's just this last update.. has sort of been.. eh..

I mean.. some how Deseret new about a nuclear program in central Africa.. but TAJ didn't.. etc.

You're used to winning, and you're upset that you didn't. Every NESer loses from time to time, and there are better ways to handle it than whining to the mod.

After a flurry of knowledge exchanges, every nation in the Eastern Coalition had access to comprehensive information that they could use to easily start national atomic weapons programs (or, in the case of Morocco, go straight to building ICBMs at secondary facilities safely nestled within their own territory),

From what I gather from this, every nation in the EC has plans for nuclear weapons, but only Morocco can actually build them. After all, building nukes isn't like outfitting a division. Even if you have plans, there's more that you need. Launch sites, equiptment to build them, scientists, and other things, which at this point, only Morocco has. I'm assuming that if the other EC nations wished to build their own nukes, they'd have to spend at least an ASP in order to have the facilities to construct them, before they could spend another aSP to buy 10 nukes. Correct my if I'm wrong.

I do know this feeling quite well. It was quite hard to lose the Danish Empire I had worked so much on (and even wrote my own jokes). Pity that I couldn't go forward with that last idea for a comic strip as I was invaded.

I know when I'm beaten fair and square. God knows I lost my fair share of wars. This IMO aint one of them.

I can accept the lot of you dont know about the specifics of nuclear weapons and their safety mechanisms. If I had written the nuclear programme you would have diddly squat from the missiles. But there are a few very common sense glaring oversights.

Like Boromir said...."It is a gift."

But he also said "One does not just walk into Mordor."

And you guys just walked into Mordor.

No, we used a catapult.

It's not 'losing'. If this went on for another turn, everyone would of 'lost'. It's just, you don't understand how incredibly lucky your forces are. Can you honestly tell me that everything that happened made sense?

Fail man, fail. Anyway it is a nice update.

To All
From FEAR

I demand your unconditional surrender. Fail to agree to these terms and I will destroy the world.
Your extreme stance makes negotiation impossible at this time.

Xavier Suarez has died from the wound inflicted by the FEAR agent. The mayoral and governoral bodies will meet and elect a new leader soon. The next authoritarian president is not likely to be as peaceful as Xavier was.
Alaska salutes a Lion of democracy, and sends our heartfelt condolences to the people of the Confederacy.

*sigh*

Well, the awards should be interesting.

And, check your PM whenever you get a chance Imago.

To the Eastern Coalition

We trusted our black blood to you to find it squandered and under Capitalist Control.

What?

To: Arabia
From: ASEAN

We would like your opinion on our proposed peace. You have seen that taking orders from FEAR only leads to defeat, so why continue to sacrifice your troops for them.

Not to mention a retailtory bunkerbusting strike would have easily placed the silo out of commission which probably would have happened if the command of the Morrocan Airforce was not suddenly turned into lobotomized starfishes.

But to the main point of this...

I come to you leaders of the EC today in a last effort to seek peace and save the world. As the leader of the government, my first responsibility is to the safety and welfare of my people. But as a member of the human race, my responsibility is also to my fellow humans. Continuing this war will only lead to nuclear confrontation, and that can only lead to the deaths of millions, not just of my own people, but of the world. Thus, it is my duty to attempt everything to end this war.

This war cannot really be traced to one side or the other, thus neither side should take the blame for it. A multitude of events caused this war. It is the unfortunate nature of humans to go to war, but it is also within their power to be at peace. We are willing to work out a peace treaty to end this horrific war before it becomes even more deadly. We will offer you a fair peace that both sides can agree to.

However, there is only one condition that we must have before starting peace talks. That is that FEAR not be involved in them. Over the last six years, FEAR has shown themselves to be the ultimate evil, genociding more than a quarter of a billion Chinese, and displacing another 250 million. Even the atrocities of Hitler and the Soviet Union cannot stand up to this. The only thing that would be a greater crime against humanity than continuing this war would be to allow FEAR to survive. We ask that you let us finish them off, while a seperate peace is negotiated amoungst ourselves. We will never rest until FEAR has been eliminated, or Vladmir Putin hangs. Be assured, that if FEAR falls their people shall be treated fairly. Our only quarlel is with Putin and his cronies who are responsible for this, not the poor people who have suffered under them.

Peace is within the grasps of the world. In this peace we would look for a fair conclusion to the war, making sure that every participant is satisfied, along with a formal agreement on capping the number of nuclear weapons each nation posses. Will you reach out and meet us half way. Would you really rather see the world destroyed than abandon a nation that has barely risked anything for your alliance, while around the world your valiant nations fight. A government and a man who over the last six years have been responsible for the deaths of at the least half a billion innocents.

*clap clap clap*

Gift of the silver tongue. It always signifies great speakers and leaders. Great liars as well. We will see the world burn before we accede to such demands.

If you wished for peace, why, may I ask, did your nations strike first?

And the same could be said for you. Why do your nations fight for NADTA, while they sit, secluded. The only reason your getting help from Alaska and Deseret, is to keep us occpuied in the Pacific, so their west coast is safe.

It was your nations that started this. It is us that will end it. However, any nation that wishes to surrender, will be spared the nuclear firestorm that your people will meet. Our terms aren't much, at least mine aren't. Join the EC, or stay neutral. Give us our land back, and in the case of South Africa, I want Nigeria.

Easy, huh?

You struck first. FEAR's invasion of ASEAN, Venezuela's invasion of Deseret, and the Franco-Moroccan invasion of Iberia opened up those theatres. Quebec is only involved because it was attacked, unprovoked, by the EC while it was focused on the American Federation.

We consider that World War 3 was started when the EC allowed Argentina, who was at the time at war with a member of the DFI, to join their alliance.

Er, hi hi!

Worlds biggest economy here, with the ability to pump out muchos nukeos.

Also, does noone think I/We may have built anti-missile systems? Or constructed our own silos, say, deep in the Amazon over the several turns I've been in control of it?

TRY throwing a Nuke my way, I dare you.

20 Nukes is nothing. I can create 1000 next year.. NO JOKE.

So seriously. Everyone, back the *beep* down
