You're probably going to join as Imperial Japan led by DYOS characters....I assume Math will go Neo Byzantium, thus contact is not necessary.

...MONTHS and solely was in Tani's games!
@Sonereal: You chose the wrong date to announce/release a new IOT
inb4 tomorrow he announces its not a real IOT.
Sonspiracy is a conspiracy to fool us into thinking a new IOT is just starting.
I'm pretty sure he just chose a poor date to announce, because Sone's been discussing it in chat for a while.
i dont think ill join Sonereal's IOT. i dislike having to indirectly control a nation, and directly control a dynasty.
the Barabas Dynasty will start and end in a single generation.
My goal was to try and shift things player-to-player, while avoiding the anarchy of the earliest games. I think I succeeded... time will tell. Either way it's looking to be immensely easier to GM than all my prior games. For one the elimination of secret stats is going to make things a lot less stressful for me as I don't need to constantly send out PMs, and the open-ended nature of spending, the military, black ops, and diplomacy is sure to be good for fun as it keeps the options for players open.
Start : Each players starts out with 4 stacks of iron, 10 stacks of food, three regions and a oplithe unit.
The economics :Spoiler :each region gives a stack of food, 10 drachmas and 100 peltastis; some regions will have a kind of special resource, saw only there :
The As are the Gold : gold makes a region more profitable,e giving 30 drachmas instead of 10.
The Os are the Oil, the region with oil will give a stack of oil in addition to other stacks and soldiers received, the oil is used as secondary resource for better ophlites, as trading resource with other poleis or empires and as basic resource for the bigger boats.
The Is are the Iron, the region with Iron gives a stack of iron each turn, over to other stacks.
The Iron is used for create ophlites along with a stack of food.
The Ws are the Wine, the region containing wine will give a stack of Wine along with others stacks.
The Wine is used as basic stability control.
The Gs are the Grain : a region with Grain will give 3 stacks of food instead of 1, along with other stacks.
At the start of each turn, every poleis choose where send the stacks of Food, Wine and Oil : the mandatory Food stacks sending are calculated in this way =
1 compulsory for region holding + X ( where X is the number of military units in the region); if a Poleis gives more than the necessaries stacks of Food to a region, that region will give to the poleis's treasure 10 drachmas for each Food stack given. If the Food stack depletes and there are still regions not covered, the poleis will need to buy the stacks in the Market
The poleis must send a stack of wine in each conquered region ( not the claimed, the controlled) that they hold for less than two turns, if a poleis cannot send a sack of wine in the conquered region, that region will return to the possessor, or, if the possessor is killed, it will became a NPC; you can't send more than a stack of Wine in each region, but you can sell the wine at the market with a price that you decide.
The poleis must spend a stack of Oil for each Trireme fleet that holds, if cannot pay it, the Trireme fleet cannot be used; a poleis can spend a stack Oil for add a +1 to the combat roll where an Oplhit units is involved. The excess can be sold at the market with a price set by the vendor.
The Iron, over to be spent when a new Oplhit units is created, isn't sent into a region time to time, but it can still be sold at the desired price.
The Drachmas are used for buy the smaller fleets, pay mercenaries, build Great Buildings, pay the goods at the market and so on.
Buildings :Spoiler :over to build armies, you can build grat buildings too, the buildings aren't exclusive ot eachother unless specified.
Temple : the temples add 10 dracmes and a region with a temple in it is less likey to be hit by negative events; 20 dracmes, requires one stack of Oil for work.
Mercenary Encampament : the mercenary unis cost half of their cost in dracmes, the Mercenary Camp cannot be built where there is already a Gymnasium. 50 Dracmes , requires a stack of Wine and at least a gold mine hold by the poleis for work.
After declaring where someone attacks, the two players will choose a formation for their armies in private : once it's done, according to the sum of all attack values of each unit involved and the bonuses of each formation, the winmer will be declared.
At the start of the game, there are only two formations : Persian and Athen Phalanx : the first is the standard one, the second gives +1 bonus for each unit of ophlites involved in the battle.
However, you can see if it is wise to attack by this chart :
100 Peltastis ( 1 unit) : attack 1; free ( give by each region at the start of the turn)
100 Ophlites ( 1 unit ) : attack 2 ; 20 dracmes and 1 stack of iron
50 Hippeis ( 1 units, cavalary) : attack 4; 1 stack of oil, 1 of iron and 30 dracmes
100 Egyptian mercenaries ( 1 unit, archers) : attack 3; 40 dracmes
100 Traces Merceneries ( 1 unit) : attack 4; 50 dracmes
Transport : N/A; 10 dracmes
Armed Raft : attack 1; 20 dracmes
Double oar ship : attack 2; 30 dramces
Triple Oar ship : attack 3 ; 1 stack of oil and 60 dracmes.
.Spoiler :each turn the poleis can spend 10 or mroe dracmes on research : each 100 dracmes, a new tech or formation is discovered : send me the details ( or the desired bonuses for the formations) and I will create something for you, please rember the ancient setting
NPC :Spoiler :the only two sure NPC are the Persian Empire and the Barbarians.
At the start of the game, both will supply the market with their goods... but once in a while, they will attack the poleis, their armies are randomly chosen, but they can't go over a certain limit.
