Nay. Sad to see the roleplay bonus go away, but meh.

Yea to nukes

I personally like WMD as a concept. Just gotta balance it right.

Yay to nukes.

Nay to nukes. I like nukes, but having them in a guareenteed nuclear holocaust WWIII scenario is just silly. I only really like them because of the MADness they bring. They're just not worth it without MAD.

True. We need to have nukes set as a serius influence instead of "I HAZ A SUPER WEOPON! MUHAHAHAHA! TIME TO USE IT!"

Well I, for one, believes that in MP III they have the potential to become that.

Lolnotatall.

The problem with any weapon of mass destruction in any complex IOT is that they're actually a lot HARDER to implement than a game like RIOT or IOTXI. They're either a slap-on-the-wrist nuke or overpowered with strangely little major economic or ecological fallout.

And, as I pointed out before, players don't have a "wait, this could really kill/screw people over" factor that RL has.

More delicious preguntas (questions) for you all!

With regards to MP4.

Era: Any ideas? While I intended to set MP4 at the same time as MP1 (i.e. a remake), there would be promise in setting the game in another era. For example, where self-determination hasn't become the prevailing doctrine. It could be ages ahead in the future but thinking has shifted back to pre-1900 levels. It would also simplify the game since air wings/WMD are rendered a non-issue.

NPC GM: While I have plans for Ailedhoo to be the NPCGM, some players are wary we might encounter the same problems that happened in MP2. So I'm going to put it to a vote: would players like an NPC GM position, or would they rather I continue to handle NPC policy?

Borders: Should I scrap provinces entirely and base boundaries on RP? Or should I keep to the old province system?

Use provinces because I can't draw at all.

Medieval game please. Castles would be nice.

Clients - Apart from being managed by Ailedhoo, their mechanics have been adjusted somewhat. ;)
Well, do tell.

Nukes - Yay or nay? I would remove the MAD provisions of MP3 so they could be freely used in the spirit of the first game's nuclear holocausts.

A.K.A. MP2.

A sub-GM is fine, if you clearly specify duties from the outset. Also, don't let a munchkin hijack the game.

I do not see this working in an MP-style game.

Provinces and please set it in the same era as the other MPs. Also, I'm unphased about the NPCGM.

I am voting 1850s on era, no to NPC GM.

Borders, I could go any way.

Yes on NPC GM: I am determined to show that the job can be handled well! Plus I need the experience!

If it is set in another era however I will need to... set some alterations on the NPC charactures to fit the time. It can be done though and my old list can be set for save for another time. I will however abstein from votes on eras.

As for borders: letting the players set their own borders instead of set borders might be intresting...

A.K.A. MP2.

I recall that much of MP2 was pretty in line with modern thinking on sovereignity and self-determination. Or did all those NPC embargoes get issued for the lulz? :p

What I mean is "You attacked a weaker nation" or "human rights violations" would cease to exist as cause for international action. For the most part nations didn't care about those until relatively recently.

This will definitely be a priority after the fiasco that MP2 was with no clear divisions of responsibility.

Flexible borders work fine if the GM applies reason to them. Such as, no claiming half the world.

While I understand that I did offer the role of NPCGM to you, a game relies as much on its players as its GMs. If there's concerns over NPCGMship, it is important they be heard.

So far it doesn't seem tilted one way or the other, however, so I will likely keep the position.
