IOT Organisational and Discussion Thread

Short list of IOTs that lasted five turns (just looking at the list)

Iron and Blood
SonRISK
SonRISK 2
SonIOT (it's called branding!)
RIOT
Fiat Lux
Sons of Mars 3
Multipolarity
YoshIOT
Sons of Mars 2
Sons of Mars
Red Alert IOT
Imperium Offtopicum 7
Imperium Offtopicum 6
Ideology Wars
Spirit of Man

I didn't play the early early ones so I don't know. And there are a lot of IOTs I wasn't part of so the gaps need filled in.

As did Spirit of Man

I think some of the early IOT's deserve a spot, especially IOT III ran by Thorvald. Oh, and since someone has to do it, I nominate Iron and Blood I

I nominate the Spirit of Man

I nominate Fiat Lux.

Actually, that list is so short, can't we put ANY IOT that lasts that long into a Hall of Fame?

I nominate... Mobius: Total Chaos. How can it not be in the list?

Taking a discussion from the Hall of Fame thread back to this thread, would anybody play a game with a ruleset more like one of the oldest IOT's where there is very little sturcture? Several people have said it wouldn't work in this new IOT society, but I think a reach back to our past would be good.

Most of the people now kinda expect some sort of structure or else they don't bother to put in any RP (see WIMiot) However, if you found old players they would probably enjoy it.

No, I probably wouldn't. I much prefer complex IOTs like MP.

Hell, it's worth a shot.
I'll run a little beta first, then if it works that'll be IOTX.
The mod is basically just a cop, to keep things in some semblance of order, it takes maybe 5 minutes at a time and I can work on other stuff as well.
I'll limit to realistic nations, to prevent a Ponies vs. Aliens war and other such nonsense.
Just..be reasonable.

This probably belongs in the IOT Developmental Thread

I rarely distinguish between the two. :p You're right though, discussion moved there. Thank you for pointing me that way. :)

There is a reason they were left in the dust.

But, you can go ahead if you want to, I might nostalgia a bit if I join :p
