Baghdad crater is liberated after 3 weeks of hard fighting against the Irocky resistant fighters. Thousands of American soldiers are wounded from falling on the pointy rock and a rock detention center is set up to help contain the Irocky resistance problem. All 32 remaining citizens of Baghdad greet the army in a lack luster manner and thus are also detained. Iraq finally becomes a democracy.

The only people in Iraq who really want Iraq to remain one country are the Sunnis, because otherwise their Sunni state will be deprived of oil revenues. Thats not enough to keep a country together. As far as Turkey is concerned, thats way overblown. Theyd just have to learn to live with the fact of an independent Iraqi Kurdistan. If we played our cards right, Kurdistan could be another very important ally of ours in the region, along with Israel.Gladi said:Bright day
Is that really possible? If US allow independent Kurdistan we will prolly see the biggest US-Turkey falling out ever. AFAIK There are Shia enclaves in Sunni territories, what about these? And more issues...
Czechoslovakia broke up peacefully, still the break-up created many problems of its own and took actually 10+ years to finish (and there are occasionally still some disputes).
Maybe British did not draw borders that well, but I highly doubt simple border "readjustment" can prove to be a "iracle cure".
