The Tullier brothers, Jacques and Louis, have successfully developed a workable aircraft. The pair own a small bicycle shop in Paris, have always had an interest in flight. Since 1901, they have been actively building models for flight. Once they had a workable design, on May 23, 1903, they took their creation the beaches of Normandy and to test it out. Jacques was the first one to actually pilot the aircraft, while Louis watched over the action. Then Louis took a turn, and on both occasions, the aircraft successfully few over 80 meters. On May 23, their actions had still not been even noticed by the French government, but by May 25, the government had taken notice, and paid them to continue to invest researching further in the field of air flight. They were hired by the Ministry of Technology to further design aircraft, and a separate team of military scientists and strategists were hired also to look into aircrafts military value.

Many people don't think of the Republic of Iceland as a valuable center of the European economy, especially after the recent island wide riots. At that time, the island was still directly ministered by France, being developed before having an independent government set up. Greenland was decided to remain under direct French governance, and sends a voting member to parliament, as well as having a directly elected lower government subservient to Paris. Iceland however soon became an independent member of the Co-Prosperity Sphere.

Iceland has always had a large fishing industry, but until recently, it had been relevantly unproductive economically, albeit necessary for the rest of the economy to function. However, recently, as sales have begun to boom worldwide for Iceland's delicious crab cakes, the island is rolling in wealth. Although it is unlikely that the crab cake boom is here to stay, the island is definitely feeling the benefits of high productivity. Renault, France's top automotive producer, top export destination is Iceland, as many people in Iceland have decided to purchase an automobile to better get around and see the island. Tourism in other areas of the Sphere are booming, as Icelanders with money are coming to see other parts of Western Europe! However, as sales seem to have topped off, many people are investing their money to maintain their newly found standard of living, with some saving in Swiss banks.

The Medinan Army is in the process of being reorganized. 24 divisions remained fully in service, compared to 54 before Operation Crescent, the code name for the liberation of Central Asia. The other 30 divisions had been devastated to the point of being disbanded. Medina has mobilized even more men to fill out the damaged division's fighting capacity. Anti-communists in Kazakhstan and Central Asia have been formed into militia units, colloquially called the White Crescent Corps, who would fight alongside the Medinan Army.

Muslims in Central Asia, Kazakhstan, and the Caucasus were immediately granted full citizenship in the Caliphate, in accordance with its citizenship policy. However, any Muslims who were captured fighting against the Medinan Army were immediately executed for treason.

Large portions of the Medinan Officer Corps were dismissed, including, to the surprise of many, the general who had commanded the Army of East Afghanistan. The Army of East Afghanistan suffered a disproportionate amount of casualties during the Kazakh Campaign. The reason cited by most is that despite the fact Medina is the capital, most diplomacy is conducted in one of the two other cities, as, like Mecca, non-Muslims are forbidden to enter Medina. The Caliph is said to be seriously considering these proposals.
